Joy Reid Trashes America After MSNBC Exit: ‘Not The Land Of Opportunity For People Like Us

By Cullen McCue

Just weeks out from her firing from MSNBC after years of dwindling ratings, Joy Reid framed America as a racist, backwards country while speaking at the Baldwin and Co. bookstore.

Reid sat down with Ta-Nehisi Coates, a far-left activist who once called 9/11 responders “menaces of nature” and has routinely delivered anti-white sermons throughout his career. Coates once again provided an insight into his racist, anti-white views during the discussion by labeling all 78 million Trump voters as “racists” and “bigots.”

“Look, man, I’m old enough to remember 2020, or 2016, when Trump won the first time. And every major paper in this world had a reason to tell us why white folks, quote unquote working class white folks, supported this racism, this bigotry, and this sexist for reasons that were not racism, sexism, or bigotry. A lot of resources were expended,” the pseudo-intellectual ranted.

“‘Economic anxiety. Economic anxiety.’ Against data, a lot of resources. I mean, humanizing almost to the point of infantilizing,” he continued in a mocking tone before, shockingly, concluding that America does not afford the same opportunity to black people.

“And then I watch these people being bombed, and it’s like, you know, excuse my language, f**k y’all,” he continued, drawing a round of applause from the crowd.

There is no Joy in Reidville.  The mighty racist BLM'er has struck bottom.

Damned Whitey.  Always oppressing people.

Any chance she'll stop whining long enough to put in her job application at Walmart?
The abnormal is not the normal just because it is prevalent.

  • Ah, the air is so much fresher here...

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
Considering her daily hatefest has brought her more money and fame than I will ever see, and in a much shorter time, without the physical hardships, all I can say is "If you think some place else is better, by all means (and she should have the means), relocate to some other place you might find more favorable. You have the freedom to do so."

Oh, to be so oppressed.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

The problem with her claim, if by "like us" she means black in the sense of subsaharan African ancestry, is that first and second generation Nigerian-Americans and first and second generation Jamaican-Americans are among the most affluent and well-educated groups in the US currently.  If by "like us" she means whiny leftists who blame their circumstances on everyone other than themselves, then I d*mned-well hope America is not a land of opportunity for such people.

Even if she means "black" in the sense of rejecting things people like her interlocutor Coates regard as part of "whiteness", things like belief in objective truth and the scientific method, speaking standard English, being polite and self-sufficient, and deferring gratification, I'm afraid she's right, not because of racism, but because nowhere is or will ever be a land of opportunity for those who are subjectivist, speak a patois, are rude and dependent and live in the moment, however much some may wish it were not so.
And when they behead your own people in the wars which are to come, then you will know what this was all about.
