"Blood Moon" Total Lunar Eclipse
« on: March 13, 2025, 08:12:31 pm »
What will happen on March 13-14, 2025?

For 65 minutes overnight tonight — Thursday, March 13 through Friday, March 14 — the first “blood moon” total lunar eclipse since 2022 will be seen from North America, clear skies allowing.

As usual for celestial events here, the skies will be overcast.

I have seen eclipses before...so I will have to be content with those memories. If you can, enjoy the view!

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

The Bible mentions a "blood moon" (a red-appearing moon during a total lunar eclipse) in Joel 2:30-31 and Revelation 6:12, suggesting it as a sign preceding "the great and dreadful day of the Lord" or a time of great tribulation.

Then I watched while he broke open the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; the sun turned as black as dark sackcloth* and the whole moon became like blood.
