Ukraine is at fault and Russia is completely innocent.  *****rollingeyes*****

Here you go again ....      :seeya:

What Ukraine did or did not do was none of Russia's business plus no matter what they did Putin wasn't going to accept anything less than Russian control and domination of Ukraine the same way he dominates and controls Belarus via his useful idiot Lukashenko.

Putin's Russia invading Ukraine was obvious to those who paid attention. Sarah Palin saw this long before most people did and most people laughed at her for it. Not even the liberals are laughing now.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/sarah-palin-on-russian-action-in-ukraine-told-you-so/

(Excerpt)

In October 2008, after Russia's invasion of neighboring Georgia emerged as a foreign policy flashpoint in the homestretch of a heated campaign, Palin told an audience in Nevada, "After the Russian army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama's reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russia's Putin to invade Ukraine next."

Her prediction was derided by Foreign Policy magazine as "strange" and "extremely far-fetched," but Palin, frequent media antagonist that she is, couldn't resist crowing about how events have played out.

"I'm usually not one to Told-Ya-So, but I did, despite my accurate prediction being derided as 'an extremely far-fetched scenario' by the 'high-brow' Foreign Policy magazine," Palin wrote Friday.

"Here's what this 'stupid,' 'insipid woman' predicted in 2008," she added, before rehashing her prediction.

Conservatives quickly rallied behind Palin, whose treatment at the hands of the national media they've long deemed unfair. Talk radio host Mark Levin tweeted, "Palin not only knows where Russia is, but she knew what Putin would do to Ukraine with Obama as president."

None of which, mind you, justifies the invasion.

All I've stated is that there has been an on-going conflict between the two countries for centuries.  That history can't be changed.

I take offense when the leader of Ukraine comes into our country begs for more money time and time again, then complains it isn't enough or he didn't receive it and when meeting with our current President has a disrespectful attitude and in fact lies three times about signing documents.  Without U.S. aid Ukraine would be sunk right now.  The EU is supposedly stepping up their game but it is my understanding that support is still contingent upon the U.S. and Z  now understands this. So Z has now agreed for the 4th time to come to the table to sign documents.  What else is supposed to transpire, I don't know.

Trump is trying to find some sort of peace between the two to stop the slaughtering.  It's Trump's call, and obviously I think he realizes that he can't trust either Z nor Putin.

Meanwhile through all of this both the Russian people and the Ukranian people have suffered.

Trump misfired when he blamed Zelensky for starting the war.  Western powers thought they could cram NATO expansion down Putin’s throat.  They were spectacularly wrong about that, and are going to suffer an embarrassing defeat in Ukraine.

It most certainly is Russia’s business.  Ask yourself whether the US would tolerate a military alliance of China-Russia-Canada or Mexico.  The lack of strategic empathy has defined American foreign policy for decades now.

Because there aren't any.  Everyone here, including myself would like see Putin hanging from a tree.

Putin will outlive his usefulness to the other hardliners.  I don’t envision him retiring to his Black Sea palace, writing a memoir.

If Canada or Mexico align with China then only the USA could drive them to such a choice. Not at all unlike how Russia's beligerance and nuclear threats drove Finland and Sweden into joining NATO.

By the way, I recall that Putin had promised war if Sweden or Finland would join NATO. Yet nothing happened.

Which means the invasion of Ukraine wasn't about NATO.

See reply #2286 repeating known Russian agitprop about a nonexistent agreement between Russia and NATO where NATO supposedly agreed to never allow new members.

Also, the choice of wording here "expansion of NATO" implies that any growth of NATO would be aggressive. As if NATO is invading these countries and forcing them into the defensive alliance.  *****rollingeyes*****

Been seeing Russian trolls, Russian apologists, and admitted Russian citizens serial-posting this same crap over on FR for the past three years.

If someone wants to call these people 'bootlickers' then that's fine by me.

Hey bum bonnet. That’s me you’re talking around and I don’t take to fecal orifices like you insulting me lightly.

One wants to believe that an assurance by the top US Diplomat should have some level of weight and merit. Democrats don’t seem to think so, and they chose to ignore what someone (in the position to make such assurances from the US government) in a previous administration made. This erodes confidence in the US.

Your tragically desperate attempt to redirect my pointing out just how much guilt Democrats share in this atrocity puts YOUR colors in full display.

Go kiss Democrats onagers elsewhere Babe.

Frankly, I got tired of the accusations of being a Putin lover by a few posters in here. Frankly, I don't care what they think anymore, nor do I care to respond to any of their posts.  It's just not worth the time and definitely not worth the aggravation.

Russians invaded Cuba in the 60’s. They’re are rude and loud when sober. Ruder and louder when drunk, which appeared to be their primary state of being.

Having said that, and understanding (as Uncle Joe Biden admitted in ‘97) that Russia would react aggressively toward the expansion, we should have been busy prepping and arming Ukraine for the invasion that we knew was coming with the expansion provocation as an excuse.

You're repeating a false narrative and one that has absolutely no substantiation outside of Russia.
