 Trump puts new limits on Elon Musk

The president convened his secretaries, with Musk, to clarify power.

President Donald Trump convened his Cabinet in person on Thursday to deliver a message: You’re in charge of your departments, not Elon Musk.

According to two administration officials, Trump told top members of his administration that Musk was empowered to make recommendations to the departments but not to issue unilateral decisions on staffing and policy. Musk was also in the room.

The meeting followed a series of mass firings and threats to government workers from the billionaire Tesla founder, who helms the Department of Government Efficiency, that created broad uncertainty across the federal government and its workforce.

DOGE’s actions have faced ferocious resistance in court and criticism from Democratic lawmakers and some Republicans.

Of course Musk's actions have been met with resistance. Those holding do nothing jobs, wasting tax payers money are being shown the door.

Just like any corporate down sizing consultants...   They make suggestions and recommendations....  It's up to company management to execute

Smart move...  It'll prevent at least a million lawsuits down the road.

What will be the fate of those officials who do not implement Musk's 'recommendations'?

I'm presuming the Trump Admin interprets 'recommendations' like Josef Stalin did.

Yes, I am sure some are.  But I know for fact, that in one agency, that is not the case.  Folks that are performing vital work have been let go while the people you reference, are protected.   So, Trump's desire to have the best will result in him having the worst, in an agency that is essential should serious public health issues manifest themselves.  As I said in other threads, Americans are going to die needlessly.

It just does not have to happen the way things are happening.  Trump/Musk are decimating the CDC, with the wrong people being pushed out.  Utter stupidity!!
