‘Snowfalls are now just a thing of the past’

One argument against the climate alarmism is the failed predictive record of the scientist-activists themselves. One salient example can be found in The Independent (March 20, 2000), “Snowfalls are now Just a Thing of the Past. The prediction belonged to David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia (yes, of Climategate infamy).

The Independent has deleted this article, but secondary sources have captured it for posperity. As in: never forget….


“Britain’s winter ends tomorrow with further indications of a striking environmental change: snow is starting to disappear from our lives,” the article began. Continuing:

I've had continuous snow cover in my yard since about mid-December. Must be my imagination.

Are there any good ski or snow-boarding resorts in East Anglia?

Eastern Mass finally had an old-fashioned colder winter this year.  The previous few were mild, but, not to worry, a steady flow of Alberta Clippers kept that fresh, dry, cold Arctic air coming.

Hard to believe that North Florida had some areas receive like 6" of snow this year. The first major snow most of them had ever seen.

But what I find most interesting is this:

(even though it got "captured" by other sites, presumably waybackmachine, etc.)

Sounds like something right out of Orwell.
What we published in the past has been proven to be discredited?
Well, then, delete the source article.
