A common criticism of Volodymyr Zelensky’s disastrous Friday performance in the Oval Office is that he failed to read the room.

Actually, the Ukrainian president did read a room — but it was the wrong room.

Before meeting Trump, Zelensky met with anti-Trump Democrats who advised him to reject the terms of the mineral deal the president was offering, according to Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.).

“Just finished a meeting with President Zelensky here in Washington. He confirmed that the Ukrainian people will not support a fake peace agreement where Putin gets everything he wants and there are no security arrangements for Ukraine,” Murphy’s office posted on X at 11:15 a.m. Friday.

He attached a picture of Zelensky at a conference table, with Murphy seated on the opposite side.

Forty minutes later, Zelensky arrived at the White House, where Trump met his car, smiled, shook his hand and walked him into the Oval Office.

Like I said on the other thread, it seems to me that Zelensky was only practicing what Trump preaches about the "Art of the Deal":

Trump was offering Ukraine a bad deal so Zelensky walked away from the table. 

I guess Trump doesn't like it when his own negotiating tactics are used against him.

I'll make a bigger prediction - Z doing this and running to Europe will be the start of a complete split between the US and them that's going to play out over the long haul. I just hope we give them a resounding 'NO!' when they want us to bail them out with troops.

DEMS would lead anybody off the cliff (even their grannies) if it meant trying to make Trump look bad.

I think it is a combination of their TDS and the fact that their money spigot is being turned off that leads them to desperation.

Somehow, they think they can spin this to be bad for America, when in the long run, Americans have had a glimpse of fiscal responsibility, the huge waste that is/was going on in government, allegedly supporting 'causes' Americans in general do not, and doubtlessly providing fortunes in taxpayer money to their own coffers.

There is no going back. We have seen the promise, and will settle for nothing less.

 pointing-up. This is bullsh!t---mere fabrications from an adolescent mind.

In truth, Zelensky lied to the President, Vice President and Secretary of State about signing the minerals agreement --- and compounded this mistake by thinking non-democrat Americans would rally around him. 

I'm happy Z was kicked to the curb, without so much as a glass of water.  He's been unceremoniously returned to his Mother Europe where leaders there can decide how they can best kick this cokehead into the dustbin of history.
