The High Stakes of the Wisconsin Supreme Court Race
National Review
by The Editors
February 25, 2025

Conservatives in Wisconsin need to win a state supreme court election to prevent Scott Walker’s Act 10 union reforms from being overturned.

Don’t worry, you did not mistakenly click on an editorial from 2011, when conservatives were in almost the exact same position. Fourteen years later, the Left is still mad about Act 10, and Wisconsin voters must elect Brad Schimel to the supreme court on April 1 to preserve it.

It has been so long since these reforms came into effect that David Prosser, the conservative justice who won that 2011 supreme court election, is no longer alive. The Wisconsin supreme court ruled that Act 10 was constitutional in 2014. Challenging the law again was futile until 2023 when progressives retook a 4–3 majority on the court.

So what is your crystal ball telling you? @Lando Lincoln

We are a month out but the edge goes to the Conservative, Schimel. The local media has been surprisingly fair from what I have seen which helps him. But the $$$!  I have read that $43 million has already been spent between the two with the most intense period coming up. All the Progressive candidate has been thumping is so-called reproductive rights and that “Schimel is too extreme for Wisconsin”.  In the past, that would play better than it does now. I honestly believe there will be coattails from November.

We shall see.

Do the math. The vote on Tuesday night was 217 - 215. George Soros is pulling millions into the WI Supreme Court race because a 4-3 liberal majority will redraw Congressional districts to squeeze out 2 GOP seats. This is how he blocks the Trump agenda. We can’t let that happen.

Radicals are pouring big money into the Supreme Court race in Wisconsin before the April 1, 2025 election. They are counting on a 4-3 liberal majority to stop President Trump’s agenda. We can’t let that happen!
