The mob of Columbia University and Barnard College students who stormed a Barnard building Wednesday afternoon appear to have gotten off scot-free. The radicals were allowed to leave peacefully after missing their first deadline to leave and being promised that they’d be protected from the police.

Video footage shows droves of keffiyeh-clad student radicals shoving their way into the campus building, Milbank Hall, physically clashing with at least two outnumbered security guards and hospitalizing one. Inside, the agitators held a dean captive, covered up security cameras, broke into an office, vandalized walls, and forced class cancellations. Their main demand: reverse the expulsion of two Barnard students who stormed an Israeli history class at Columbia last month, targeting Jewish students with anti-Semitic flyers.

A Columbia student confirmed to the Washington Free Beacon that campus public safety called the New York Police Department but said officers were not given entry because Barnard was "hesitant to do anything that could lead to physical confrontation."

The nine agitators arrested during Wednesday night’s takeover of a Barnard College academic building were all released with desk appearance tickets, as it was revealed none of them were actually students at the elite women’s college.

The disruptors taken into custody included several from privileged backgrounds, including one whose family founded the popular Hampton Jitney bus service in the 1970s — and one rabble rouser who had been busted at two other protests and has called for the “overthrow” of America.

The nine were cuffed after more than 200 protesters swarmed the Milstein Library at Barnard College, many of them from nearby schools including Columbia University and Union Theological Seminary, a source told The Post.

ORK (AP) — A prominent Palestinian activist who helped lead Columbia University’s student encampment movement was arrested Saturday night by federal immigration authorities who claimed they were acting on a State Department order to revoke his green card, according to his attorney.

Mahmoud Khalil was at his university-owned apartment blocks from Columbia’s Manhattan campus when several Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents entered the building and took him into custody, his attorney, Amy Greer, told The Associated Press.

One of the agents told Greer by phone that they were executing a State Department order to revoke Khalil’s student visa. Informed by the attorney that Khalil, who graduated in December, was in the United States as a permanent resident with a green card, the agent said they were revoking that too, according to the lawyer.

The arrest comes as President Donald Trump vows to deport foreign students and imprison “agitators” involved in protests against Israel’s war in Gaza. The administration has placed particular scrutiny on Columbia, announcing Friday that it would be cutting $400 million in grants and contracts because of what the government describes as the Ivy League school’s failure to squelch antisemitism on campus.

A vocal pro-Palestine graduate student at Columbia University was arrested and is being detained by ICE ahead of a scheduled appearance with a federal immigration judge, according to activists and his lawyer.

Mahmoud Khalil, who was the lead student negotiator for the pro-Palestinian encampment at the New York City college last year, was arrested Saturday night at his university-owned home by agents with the Department of Homeland Security, the Associated Press reported.

The protests at Columbia last year were allowed to run rampant for two weeks. They were marked by violent assaults and instances of Jewish students being afraid to go to class.

Khalil, who graduated in December, is in custody at an immigration detention facility in Elizabeth, New Jersey, according to federal records.

Undergraduate student Maryam Alwan, who was arrested by New York City police officers during the encampments last year, said she was 'horrified' by that happened to Khalil.

'I am horrified for my dear friend Mahmoud, who is a legal resident, and I am horrified that this is only the beginning,' the Columbia senior told Reuters in an interview.

According to past media reports from the BBC, Khalil was a Palestinian refugee who grew up in Syria. At some point, he emigrated to the United States to get an education at Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs.

Amy Greer, Khalil's attorney, said she was told by a DHS agent over the phone that his team had executed a State Department order to revoke Khalil's student visa. The agent also said they were revoking his green card.

Am hopeful the green card was pulled due to criminal behavior, which is in the law. And that maybe we can find another law firm that will go to bat for him that we can dislodge from further government largesse

Mahmoud Khalil is married to his wife who is a U.S. citizen. Khalil’s wife whose identity is not revealed is currently eight months pregnant.

This is why you can't allow radical Islamo-fascist jihadi 'activists' into the country in the first place.  Once here, they can marry a US Citizen and parent an anchor baby.

Cut off Columbia University and its students from any Federal funds, including Federal research grants, tuition grants, subsidies, or Federally-backed loans.

If Hamas is a hill Columbia University wants to die on, so be it.  Let them suffer the consequences of their radicalism.

It is not in the Public Interest for Federal funds to subsidize a private university that chooses to be a haven for Hamas terrorists, Hamas ideology, and a potential radicalization center for Hamas recruits.

Let's be clear - Hamas wants to 'liberate' Palenstine by exterminating all Jews.  It is not a revolutionary ideology of 'liberation'; it's a genocidal ideology that can trace its ideological roots to Nazi Germany.

A judge has stepped in to temporarily block the deportation of a pro-Palestine activist who led student protests at Columbia University.

President Donald Trump boasted about the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil, warning likeminded activists it was 'the first of many to come' as he embarks on his mass deportation policy.

Khalil was detained by ICE officers on Saturday night - who said they'd been given an order to revoke his green card - in front of his pregnant wife.

But a federal judge in New York poured water on Trump's plan on Monday, blocking the administration from deporting Khalil until at least the next court hearing on Wednesday.

The court order, seen by DailyMail.com, states: 'To preserve the Court's jurisdiction pending a ruling on the petition, Petitioner shall not be removed from the United States unless and until the Court orders otherwise.'

Khalil, a Palestinian who was born and raised in Syria, helped to lead protests against Israel at Columbia University last year.

He also acted as a negotiator between students and university officials.

The protests were allowed to run rampant for two weeks. They were marked by violent assaults and instances of Jewish students being afraid to go to class.

The Trump administration sent the far-left into an apoplectic rage on Sunday when it was announced they had detained pro-Hamas activist Mahmoud Khalil. The Department of Homeland Security took him into custody with the intent to revoke his green card and deport him after he repeatedly expressed public support for terrorism.

Khalil is originally from Syria and has been one of the leaders of the antisemitic harassment campaign taking place at Columbia University. During the summer of 2024, he helped instigate and organize a group of Hamas supporters who illegally occupied public spaces around the school, becoming one of their chief "negotiators." Columbia pro-terrorist activists made headlines again recently when they surrounded a Jewish center on campus, screaming for a "global intifada." Khalil was also filmed participating in a "protest" that took over a library.

That seems pretty straightforward, but nothing is ever cut and dried when left-wing judges make it their life's mission to oppose everything the Trump administration does. Judge Jesse M. Furman of the Southern District of New York stepped in to block Khalil's deportation and ordered legal representation for both sides to appear on Wednesday.
