Yay!  He will make an excellent governor.  He has my vote!

Rep. Byron Donalds runs for governor of Florida in 2026

U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds, a Republican, announced his candidacy for the Florida governorship Tuesday night.

He made the announcement on Fox News’ Hannity.

“We have a great governor – Ron DeSantis has done a tremendous job for our state,” Donalds said. “Now, the job is to keep the best state in the country.”

Top items on Donalds’ agenda, the congressman said, include delivering property insurance relief for Floridians, being a hub for business, leading in digital assets, considering bringing cryptocurrency as part of Florida’s portfolio, conservation and education.

“I joined the Tea Party movement, was in the conservative movement, 4 years in the state legislature, 4 years in Congress – now is the time to take the mantle and lead our state into the future,” he said.

Donalds said he is “excited” to have Trump’s endorsement and touted his own conservative record.

“I have one of the strongest conservative records both in the state House and up here in Congress – that proves that I will not let you down,” he said.

Donalds recounted a bill he says he got passed in the Florida Legislature that allowed parents to examine the materials schools give to children, ultimately signed by Gov. Rick Scott.

“All of the victories and successes Florida has been able to accomplish – we’re only going to take that and build upon it,” he said. “We’re gonna continue to be the freest state and the best state going forward.”......................

Hard Pass for me.  We can do better.

Other than being DeSantis' wife, she doesn't have a whole lot of experience.

Well she isn't a guy who was more like Black Gilligan like Bryon was 8 years ago.

Who then?  His conservatism is equal to that of DeSantis.  I've listened to him on the Trump trail. He is very articulate and is able to hammer home his message of conservatism and he has been a good Rep.

Is DeSantis finally off over-using the word 'woke'?
"Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it’s entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end." - Alan Simpson, Frontline Video Interview

Byron's conservative record is excellent.  People evolve.  Casey just doesn't have the momentum nor the ability to connect with people like Byron does; she really falls short.

She hasn't announced that she's running and I hope she isn't.

Byron was mostly silent during the McCarthy Coup d'état even though he was nominated.  It doesn't matter to me because I don't live in Florida but to me personally, I'd rather a strong Woman than a weak man.

If this were a white man, nobody would want him to be governor.  Sided with the left on Trayvon Martin, sided with Kamala on FL curriculum, missed tons of votes, virtually silent on any state issue, legal troubles, refers to Trump as “daddy.”  No thank you.

The more you learn about him the less you will like this POS.
