It’s not very sportsmanlike to mock your opposition when you’re winning, but sometimes, the temptation is overwhelming.

Having resisted the urge to launch cheap shots at Democrats since Donald Trump’s inauguration, my resolve crumbled over two stories that encapsulate the party’s moral bankruptcy and refusal to change direction.

Story 1: Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers, a Dem, backed legislation that redefines mothers as “inseminated persons.”

The budget bill, introduced Friday, also replaces “father” with “parent” over 120 times, state Rep. Amanda Nedweski (R-Kenosha) complained in a Facebook post.

“As a proud mother of two, it is absolutely insulting that the Governor, in his 2025-27 budget bill, would reduce me and millions of other mothers across Wisconsin to ‘inseminated persons.’ ”

Yes, but don’t expect Dems to complain. “Gender-neutral” language erasing mothers and fathers is their Holy Grail. Orwellian constructions such as “pregnant people” and “inseminated persons” are the inevitable result, and they don’t seem to care that most Americans are offended.

There is nothing more important to the left than power. Without power, they are unable to buy or bully people into voting for them. And now Trump is systematically dismantling the vast bureaucracy created under Obama and Biden, the purpose of which was to propagate one party rule in this country forever. It is a beautiful thing to see, and so far these efforts have surpassed my most ambitious expectations.

But make no mistake. The socialists will strike back with a ferocity that seems implausible at this moment. Right now they are back on their heels. But that will not last. This is an existential crisis to them. They will dust off the Saul Alinsky playbook and take to the streets.

It is going to be a hot summer.
