Possibly The Dumbest Example Of Waste DOGE Has Discovered (So Far)
Derek Hunter

There’s something about being exposed that causes stupidity; a kneejerk reaction to push back against reality, no matter how obvious. As DOGE and President Donald Trump work to expose and fight government waste, fraud and abuse (how sad is it that they have to FIGHT Democrats to end those things?), more ways in which the federal government has been doing those things is coming to light.

As a result of this disinfecting glow of sunlight, people are losing their jobs. While that’s never fun, those jobs are simply unnecessary. Since Democrats have adopted a “If Trump is for it, we’re against it…whatever IT is” mantra, they end up looking ridiculous most of the time.

That’s what happens when you don’t think, you simply respond. It’s a super power Trump has, he can make his opponents metaphorically punch themselves in the face while defending some of the dumbest, most wasteful and corrupt spending human beings have ever conceived.

One of the dumbest and most hilarious cases of this very phenomenon was on display in a story in the Washington Post this week. It opens with this paragraph, “At California’s Yosemite National Park, the Trump administration fired the only locksmith on staff on Friday. He was the sole employee with the keys and the institutional knowledge needed to rescue visitors from locked restrooms.”

Biden also went on a federal hiring spree to improve the official employment numbers going into his planned reelection. He was spending our money and using those new hires as pawns in his quest for continued power. If you look at the employment numbers in 2024 and exclude federal jobs the numbers were dismal.

AsI recall, all the park rangers had keys to the restrooms and surely there were master keys. I have no doubt however that low information democrats will swallow this BS hook, line and sinker because Trump/Musk.

Photos: ‘Distress flag’ towers over Yosemite to protest cuts as crowds view firefall
Story by Gregory Thomas

A group of frustrated Yosemite National Park staffers hoping to draw attention to the federal government’s sweeping workforce cuts hung an upside-down American flag Saturday thousands of feet off the ground on the side of El Capitan.

The 3,000-foot granite cliff looms above Yosemite Valley, and thousands of eyes were on it Saturday evening for the dramatic stunt: It’s the last weekend of the annual firefall spectacle, which brings scores of onlookers to Yosemite.

Dozens, if not hundreds, of large telephoto cameras set up by visitors Saturday in a viewing area on the valley floor were trained high on El Capitan to capture the ephemeral moments when the day’s last light illuminates Horsetail Fall as if it were a cascade of lava pouring over the cliff.

The upside-down flag — traditionally a symbol of distress or a national threat — was strung near the falls and clearly visible.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
So more openings at the Park Service, or is attrition going to leave a mark?

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

  • Didn't vote for McCain Dole Romney Trump !
A lot of parks now days are so patrolled that you feel you are no longer welcome unless you dump a bunch of money at the front gate after making reservations weeks in advance. Locally the old swimming holes are bombed with no parking signs and capacity limits. It is not public land, but tourist bait.

Seriously. You just cannot make this stuff up. This is funnier than a Babylon Bee headline.

If you stop to think about it🤔 If he was the only one with the keys….then he was the who could lock visitors in the restroom.

If he's the only person with that knowledge, then it's not 'institutional'.
