Rep. Jasmine Crockett Says the Government 'Is Not in the Business of Handing Out Money'

Democrat Representative and resident weave-tosser Jasmine Crockett scoffed at the idea of giving $5,000 checks to Americans carved from the billions in government waste that President Donald Trump and Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency say they're eliminating, with Crockett suggesting that giving people their money back isn't the government's "business" and that no one should care about an extra $5,000 in chump change, anyway.
"Now President Trump says he likes the idea of giving some of the savings from DOGE back to Americans as kind of a dividend. Would you support that?" an ABC news host asked Crockett.
To which the Democrat lawmaker immediately accused Trump of "telling a lie," rushing to claim that these rebate-like checks wouldn't be anything like the COVID-era payments blasted out like confetti by the Biden administration back in 2021, which many credit for sparking inflation and inviting an avalanche of fraud and abuse that we're still trying to dig ourselves out of to this day.
But after calling Trump a liar, suggesting he'll likely walk us into more pandemics, and claiming that there's "no money" in the federal coffers to give back to the people, Crockett made a statement that could only be described as jaw-droppingly asinine, and out-of-touch to boot.
"We [the government] are not in the business of giving out money. and honestly, I don't know what $5,000 will do for you," she said.
