In a fiery exchange that’s lighting up political circles, Vice President JD Vance has delivered a stinging rebuttal to historian Niall Ferguson, a Hoover Institution fellow, over the Trump administration’s push for peace in Ukraine. The clash, sparked by Ferguson’s critique of Trump’s approach, unfolded on X and has conservatives cheering Vance’s no-nonsense defense of a strategy that prioritizes American interests while seeking an end to a conflict that’s drained resources and patience for far too long.

Once again, JD Vance shows why he's the best VP in the history of America

...."This isn’t just a win for Vance; it’s a signal that Trump’s team is serious about ending the war without sacrificing strength. The left’s war drumbeat is fading, and the applause for Vance shows Americans are ready for a resolution that puts us first..."

I have to admit I had great reservations about Vance, but so far, I am deeply impressed with him and he is more knowledgeable and astute than I ever imagined for someone so young and who has had little political experience.

That article is pure garbage and JD should know better.  I guess he too believes that surrender is always the best option because it is too damned inconvenient to fight for freedom and liberty.  I wonder what Reagan would think about all of this?

BTW, this disclaimer is at the bottom of that article:

Bush 41's intervention in Kuwait started America down the long path of being mire in the quicksand of Middle East politics for the next 30 years ...

US troops in Saudi Arabi inspired an attack against them in Saudi Arabi as well as inspiring millions of Muslims take up jihad against the United States, including Osama bin Laden.

Kuwait was a former British protectorate/mandate without a protector in 1990.

It is in the long-term interest of the United States to be energy-secure and energy-independent so we don't have to sacrifice American bllod and treasure to keep OPEC in business.

No matter who rules the Middle East, if they want money, they'll sell the oil.  If not, high prices will spur exploration to find new sources of hydrocarbons and alternatives to hydrocarbons.

For much of its history, Ukraine's territory was split among the Austrian Empire, the Russian Empire, and the Lithuanian-Polish Commonwealth.

Ukraine did not exist as an independent state until after WWI, but it was quickly reconquered by Red Army.

It wasn't until the creation of the Soviet Socialist Republic of Ukraine, that Ukraine existed as a political entity.

Saving Ukraine is more in Europe's, the E.U.'s, and NATO's interests than in America's interests.  America happens to be the chump opening its checkbook while Europe lives under the umbrella of Pax Americana.
