Oh, horrors! Trump pursues peace and tells the truth about Zelenskyy

The war machine is up and screaming. Zelenskyy is having a hissy fit for not continuing to be the absolute center of attention as Trump proceeds, diplomatically, to pursue perfectly legitimate routes to, firstly, engage the “aggressor” (Russia) in talks for peace.

For the first time since the current Ukraine/Russia war began—exactly 3 years less 4 days ago—the leadership of America is speaking for the people, those being killed, and all those paying for it.

Zelenskyy is furious that America, whose taxpayers have financed “his” war, did not yet include him in the first diplomatic efforts with Russia. But this is not all about Zelenskyy, fortunately.  It most absolutely stands to reason that the peace talks, from the perspective of any historically successful diplomacy, must begin with the most powerful participant: Russia. This is Diplomacy 101.

Frankly, Z's hissy fits have gotten old.  I get that he's the leader of Ukraine. I get that there has been on-going conflicts between Russia and Ukraine for decades; certainly horrific for the Ukranian and Russian people. It has been catastrophic.

It's not our war.  The U.S. has given him aid. I understand his claim that he didn't get what he was 'promised'  and Joe likely siphoned off a lot of money; that is not the fault of the American people who have helped to fund his fight against  Russia.

I am still of the opinion that there is a possibility that Biden may have prodded Russia into conflict --- what did Joe promise Putin or what did he threaten him with?? 

However, Trump is trying to negotiate an end to this particular conflict and hopefully stop draining the U.S.

Unfortunately, any treaty made can always be broken be either side and another conflict erupts -- and history continues to repeat itself.

Well, I would like to see an end to the war.  The fact that Biden made no such effort clearly speaks to the fact Biden was feeding the military/industrial complex a major dose of porridge.

But Trump's idiotic utterings I do not think will get him what he wants.  Saying Ukraine started the war might just be one of the dumbest things Trump has said in a long list of stupid comments.  Right now for me, Trump is dumber than Chamberlain was with Hitler in 1938-39.

And we do not have a Churchill waiting in the wings. 

Again, 24 hours, 24 days, working on 24 weeks.  Do I hear 24 months?  Hmmm!

Not sure how Hunter's little gravy train fared after the change of Administration, there, but treating the invasion capriciously as a 'border incursion' initially allowed the war to proceed.  We have no idea what was said back channel. ith massive amounts of money being thrown at 'military' aid, and especially 'humanitarian' aid, I would wager the house rake off the MIC and the feather merchants to be even better than his haul during the Poroshenko Era.

Zeleneskey need never had to touched a dime, because ol' sniffy could skim every transaction from the beach or the White House.

Never underestimate the criminality of those on this side of the pond. That much money is serious bait, and the whole Humanitarian Aid thing has been already shown to be a major route for moving massive sums. How many 'directors' got deals like Hunter, or served an organization that amounted to a huge laundry?

Having said that, they resisted defiantly enough so that Russia (at this point) probably can't "win" either. But like it or not, Russia still holds the better position.

Any "settlement" will involve Ukraine ceding SOME territory back to the Russians. Remember, Ukraine was considered to be A PART OF RUSSIA up until the Stalin era, if I recall correctly.

Having said THAT, Russia won't get all they want, either. Those portions of Ukraine that are populated with ethinic Russians they may get, but not too much more.

Crimea is Russian now, and that won't be changing.

It will be up to Europe -- and NOT the United States -- to provide the funding to rebuild Ukraine. We spent ENOUGH there. No more.

In those negotiations, Putin got everything he wanted - a divided NATO, abandonment of US support for Ukraine, and the American President parroting Russian propaganda on the world stage.  What did the US get from those negotiations?

Trump is selling out Ukraine, stripping it of its resources, and planning to toss it's corpse over to his buddy Putin.

It's worse than what Chamberlain did with Hitler and Mussolini in Munich 1938 concerning the Sudetenland.



Flashback:

Imagine if George Washington had said that in 1777, or Abraham Lincoln in 1862, or Winston Churchill in 1940, or Franklin Roosevelt in 1942, or Ronald Reagan in 1981?

Where would we be now?
