I think DOGE has estimated that approximately $5,000.00 will go to each taxpayer.  So, I'm not sure if that means $5,000 per joint filers or $5,000 for every individual taxpayer.

So now we're as guilty as the Democrats.  $2 trillion in new money printed up this year to fund government.  And instead of recovering every dollar of it, we're gonna take some $400 billion of this year's 'borrowed' money and dish it out to voters?

No thanks.  I want no part of that.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

Before anything can be done the budget has to be balanced. So I'm assuming, and we know how that goes, that that 60% balances the current budget leaving 40% to pay down debt and/or distribute back to taxpayers.
There's that 'priority' that the budget be balanced.

You are talking your self out of extending tax cuts which expire this year if you adhere to that mantra.

In fact, if it is such a priority to pay down debt, why not raise taxes to do so?

If you don't want to do that, it isn't 'the priority', is it?

That appears a false statement as I have read that only taxpayers will receive anything, only about half the electorate.

Have you read anything to the contrary?

It says TAX REFUND to every taxpayer.

Seems that is for people who pay taxes, doesn't it?

If it is not, it is not a refund but a handout.

Am not for handouts, but can be talked into a refund of tax dollars I paid, which is the same as a cut to my taxes
