Hijacking a House Majority: NY Democrats Threaten to Hold Elise Stefanik Seat Hostage

President Trump named New York’s 21st Congressional Representative Elise Stefanik as his pick for U.N. Ambassador.

Should Congresswoman Stefanik be voted in and resign her position in the House, she must be replaced through a Special Election.

Unsurprisingly, recent actions by Democrat lawmakers in the New York State legislature in league with Gov. Hochul are designed to delay the special election for Rep. Elise Stefanik’s soon-to-be-vacant seat in the 21st Congressional District.

Proposals are being made to extend the timeframe for the Governor to call a Special Election beyond the current 10 days from a vacancy in addition to extending that Special Election to a date in the distant future such as coupling a Special Election with a June primary or the next November election.

According to Hochul, this is all being done under the guise of reducing election administration costs and increase voter turnout. But since when is money an object to one of the bluest and highest taxed states in the Union?

Further, are the people of NY’s 21st really willing to give up representation for some vague fist full of dollars saved on administering an election?

This is just one more manifestation of the political corruption saturating New York State politics as Democrats in control seek to sacrifice Constitutional representation of the people on the altar of their political power. Who will end it?
