Astonishing amount government spent on giving migrants cars, homes and credit cards

The Department of Health and Human Service (HHS) doled out grants worth an eyewatering $22.6 billion from 2020 to 2024 to help migrants, according to a watchdog report.

According to findings by auditors OpenTheBooks, the HHS' Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) even handed out money to help migrants buy cars and homes.

Given the job of settling migrants, asylum seekers and refugees, the ORR increased the number of non-citizens eligible to receive funding under President Joe Biden.
 
In doing so, they handed out the funds to cover a wide range of benefits including housing, vehicles, small business loans, credit repair, legal aid and Medicaid.
