Nothing awesome about what is taking place. I have terminated more than my share of folks, and I never enjoyed giving someone a pink slip.
Now I do enjoy the fraud that is being found. I am 100% certain there is some form of criminal action involved and should result in some indictments.
But what is genuinely sad here is a Congress that has abdicated their responsibilities for 50+ years. Why should the American people wish for a budget, let alone a balanced budget? If Congress was worth a good BM, they would accomplish both. What all of this is proving is that our current governmental architecture is gravely flawed. Why have two houses in Congress when neither side does their damn job?
Why have two senators from each state? I say reduce it to 1 senator per state.
And in terms of saving money, end the golden parachute. No more full pension with all the votes to increase the same through the years after just 5 years. Let them have a 401k like the rest of us with a $ for $ match for the first 5%. Or let them earn a pension like everyone else that has one. 1 year served, 1 year in the formula for a pension. 20 ears to receive a pension or a combination of years served with age.
You serve 12 years as a senator and leave, you get paid 12 years pension on the basis of the average of the three highest years. Nothing more. No life with healthcare, no nothing.
Half or more of everything Trump is doing will be rejected by the courts. Celebrating before the courts have ruled on what he and Musk are doing is premature. I tell you, don't hold your breath for the courts siding with Trump on much of this. They won't.
