Seems to me that the cost of "Star Wars" and "Space Force" weapons systems and development have a connection here.

Don't believe it's all going into someone's personal bank account all the time.

If the expenditure is legitimate why does it have to be hidden by overpaying on innocuous items?

Was thinking only about 'Top Secret' weapons systems that you don't want divulged to adversaries.

For example laser-weapons and/or anti-gravity high tech flying objects reverse engineered from crashed UFOs, etc..

I would hope that what is being padded is being diverted into development projects or ones which are 'off the books' for security reasons. If the next gen stuff is 'out there' like SDI dreams, I'm good with that, provided those aren't padded and there is no diversion to personal accounts or political activism.

Advocating for Continuing Resolutions instead of a real Budget, that's where.
Newts' 1994 budget was the last one in D.C.

I would hope that what is being padded is being diverted into development projects or ones which are 'off the books' for security reasons. If the next gen stuff is 'out there' like SDI dreams, I'm good with that, provided those aren't padded and there is no diversion to personal accounts or political activism.

I actually hadn't thought of that possibility...and hope that's what the overpayments are for.

I actually hadn't thought of that possibility...and hope that's what the overpayments are for.
We saw this in the past with coffee pots and toilet seats on B-52s but both might have to function at positive and negative Gs, and high angle bank and even (yike!) inverted without creating other problems, like unwanted fluids in the cabin. IIRC, hammers were getting hammered as being another grossly overpriced item. I don't recall where that 'extra' money went, but I believe it was to another program.

I see why these might need to be kept quiet, but why not label the expenditures as "Dark Projects". If they are paying for these programs by inflating toilet seat prices all they do is make themselves look stupid and diminish support for their budget.

Every person involved with purchasing on these items that are out of order should be immediately terminated with cause.

Clearly there is fraud taking place.  And anyone involved with auditing said purchases should also be terminated.
