Russian authorities have intercepted a shipment of FPV goggles rigged with explosives, allegedly intended to detonate upon first use.

According to Russian war correspondents, saboteurs modified Skyzone Cobra FPV goggles by embedding 10–15 grams of plastic explosives near the temple area, wired to the power button. If activated, the detonation would have been fatal. Photos of the modified devices are now circulating in Russian military channels.

The explosive-laden goggles were reportedly found during an inspection of humanitarian aid packages from volunteers, with visible signs of tampering.

Wouldn't surprise me if this is just a bit of Kabuki theater intended to dissuade Russian troops from using NVG.

Actually, these are goggles for use by drone operators that project the image the drone is 'seeing' for the operator. The target is drone pilots, not ground troops with NVG.
