Congress will never let a balanced budget happen.  It is beyond their ability.

If Elon keeps heading us in this direction and the GOP gets their schlitz together, I think we'll see a balanced budget (you know the glass is half full and all that  happy77).

They sure are fighting the things needed to do it.

I've yet to see any real cuts to spending. Trump is doing his part with DOGE. They are finding all kinds of waste, but the big cuts have to come in the budget and Congress has yet to do that.

Not going to be their call.  The President cannot overspend what Congress appropriates, but he absolutely can underspend it.  Let them appropriate another $50 billion for USAID next year.  And watch that $50 billion remain sitting in the Treasury unspent.
