EXCLUSIVE: US ally cautions world against doubting Trump's 'shockingly innovative' Gaza proposal

UNITED NATIONS — President Donald Trump’s suggestion that the U.S. "take over" the Gaza Strip has garnered negative reactions across the globe and even from within his own party.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó, however, doesn’t think the world should be so quick to dismiss President Trump’s proposal. Szijjártó compared the Gaza proposal to another one of Trump’s "shockingly innovative" ideas to a paradigm-shifting move the president made shortly before leaving office in 2020.

"I would like to remind everyone that when President Trump announced his plan regarding the Abraham Accords, there was hardly anyone in the world who would have believed in the success in those agreements, right? And at the end of the day, he made it, and the Abraham Accords have brought a totally new dimension to the life of the Middle East," Szijjártó told Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

The Abraham Accords saw Israel sign treaties with the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan. There was speculation that had President Trump won the 2020 election, Saudi Arabia would have been next to sign a treaty. However, the Saudis made it clear on Tuesday that the country would not forge ties with Israel without the establishment of a Palestinian state.

"This is maybe the most complicated issue nowadays in the world, how to make long-term peace in the Middle East," Szijjártó said, adding that "when it comes to President Trump, I would not exclude anything."...............

Ethnically cleansing the Gaza Strip to build a beach resort is asking for another forever-war in the Middle East.

Palestinian Arabs are sequestered in the Gaza Strip because no Arab nation wants to take them ... for good reason ... they would be a destabilizing presence in those nations.

Let the Arab League deal with Gaza ... the got the oil wealth and proximity to do something if the Gazans stop blowing things up.

  • Well EXCUSE me!
I just don’t see it happening, first of all nobody wants the violent Palis in their country, they are trained to hate and kill from a very early age so nowhere that takes them in will no peace. They are destroyers not builders, unless they are building tunnels and bomb factories to cause destruction.

And second they believe that Gaza is just as much theirs as Jews do Israel. Unfortunately I don’t see peace between the Israelis and the Palis because the Palis refuse to acknowledge Israels right to exist or to leave their medieval thinking behind and enter the modern world .

I read somewhere else about a proposal (may have come from Israel) to ship the palis en masse to Indonesia -- another muslim nation.

Sounds good to me (although I have for months suggested Somalia instead)...

Reconstructing Gaza is like rebuilding Hitler's Nazi Germany.  Imagine that for a moment.

Screw Saudi Arabia and their desire for something that has NOT come about in over 100 years with the Balfour Agreement.

Up stream, someone had a brilliant idea, put the Palestinians on an island.  Indonesia has 1,000+/- islands.  Indonesia is the largest islamic state.  Put them all on one or more islands.  Warm climate, part of an islamic state, they might just enjoy the peace and quiet, and no need to live their entire life planning to kill every Jew on the planet.

And let Saudi Arabia fund it along with the other islamic states, all of which will benefit by taming the Palestinians.  And I say leave Gaza in ruins to remind them they are never welcome there again.  NEVER!!!

You want peace in the Middle East, destroying Palestine is the only solution for a genocidal/maniacal society.

Is the security of the U.S.A. contingent upon rebuilding the Gaza strip?

The security of the U.S.A. does depend on our ability to control and protect our own borders; both our northern and southern borders.  Let's get the darn wall built along our southern border and get some military power along our northern border.

Let's get it done!!!!

Turning the Gaza Strip into an international resort paradise with Arabs, including Palestinians, Persians, and Jews living there ---- but with neither Hamas nor Israel owning or controlling the place --- may be the avenue to finally ending this 58 year old "Six Day War".

Like why the world rejected Jewish immigrants in the 1930s?

Ok, but at what cost?  Continual babysitting by the U.S. with trillions in taxpayer dollars spent to create this so called 'paradise' requiring a lengthy U.S. military presence.

I envision this as an Arab consortium .... with US/European individual investments in hotels, restaurants, entertainment on the strip.  Sure, we'll throw a couple of taxpayer billions at clean up.... But, the rest should come from individual investments.

There's no need for a lengthy military presence ---- as long as Hamas and the Israeli government are kept out of management and investments.

Such a change would end the war focused status quo and makes room for peace.
