  • Dems-greatest existential threat to USA republic!

Quote
Trump said the U.S. would take ownership of the Gaza Strip and redevelop it after Palestinians are resettled elsewhere and turn the territory into “the Riviera of the Middle East” in which the “world’s people”— including Palestinians — would live. He offered no detail about what authority the U.S. would use to take the land and develop it.

“We’ll make sure that it’s done world class,” Trump said. “It’ll be wonderful for the people — Palestinians, Palestinians mostly, we’re talking about.”

Egypt, Jordan and other U.S. allies in the Mideast have cautioned Trump that relocating Palestinians from Gaza would threaten Mideast stability, risk expanding the conflict and undermine a decades-long push by the U.S. and allies for a two-state solution.

https://apnews.com/article/trump-netanyahu-washington-ceasefire-1c8deec4dd46177e08e07d669d595ed3

Further down in this article was the primary considerations.  NO OTHER NATION will take these homicidal/genocidal maniacs.  Not Jordan, or Egypt, and certainly not Saudi Arabia.  Relocate the Palestinians while Trump rebuilds Gaza into the new grand Riviera of the Med?

Is he trying to compete with the lunatic Democommies for craziest b*st*rd in America?  Or is he losing  it and becoming Wrecking Ball Joe 2.0?  I am so tired of insanity in the USA.

Now Trump tends to flaunt extreme ideas to get what he wants.  Perhaps this is nothing more than him telling the crazy Palestinians we will take your land and deport your sorry *sses to a hinterland so undesirable, you will do as I say or else.  The genocidal maniacs of Gaza will tell Trump to go f*** himself.

Y'all are forgetting the basics of horsetrading.
You start high, and get 'dickered down' to what you actually wanted (or maybe a bit more).

(You can't jack the price up once the opening bids go out or the deal falls flat.)
I think a lot of this is calling attention to real problems that need to be addressed. I don't think we should take over Gaza, don't want or its problems, but someone should, and the first step in finding solutions is to admit problems. If nothing else, he has called attention to them in a way that cannot be just shoved aside.

Also, with so many things going on, the people (many with some overlap in all these different facets) opposed to anything but the Biden era status quo are off balance trying to keep responding to the number and variety of proposals (trial balloons). There are fingers which are in all these pies.

LOL!  President Trump has absolutely no intention of taking Gaza.

This is merely a "Look!  A squirrel in the backyard...where's the tennis racket?"

He probably peeked over his newspaper at Melania and Barron and said..."Watch what I'm gonna do this afternoon!"

I think this is just more masterful trolling by the master.  Like seizing Greenland, Panama, Canada as 51st state. etc.

Trump knows if he can keep the left in apocalyptic mode, he knows they'll stay so angry that they won't be able to think straight.

why is some shithole in the Middle East the problem of America or the west? Israel is rich enough and can defend itself, and if it isn’t, it’s still not the wests business to get involved in some religious war that’s been going on for thousands of years,.

I agree with you, but in the same light we shouldn't be involved with Russo Ukraine war which has been going on for decades either.

Just a thought...not a sermon.  happy77

Seems whenever the White House is occupied by a Democrat, Israel is under attack or constantly threatened.

If the United States had shares of stock in Gaza in the form of a major military installation as Germany has since the end of WWII, it should certainly give Iran and other goat bleepers pause.

Trump’s ‘Historic’ Gaza Plan Wins Support from GOP, Conservatives: ‘Peacemaker for Our Time’

Republican figures and conservative commentators are heaping praise on President Donald Trump’s plan for the United States to take control of Gaza, resettle its population, and rebuild it into a thriving economic hub, a strategy seen as a major shift away from the failed two-state solution.

This   pointing-up  doesn't make sense.

Why would he want to reward and clean up Israel's ethnic cleansing of the Gaza Strip ---- turning Israel into a perpetual protectorate hanging around our neck in the process?  Why would he want to deepen our footprint in Mideastern quicksand?  There's nothing in any of this for the United States, including our security and our economy.

Seems more likely Trump is opening the door to stopping Israel's plan to bomb Gaza at will for decades and control/reoccupy it.  He knows the status quo, including Israel's, must end with this war.

Interesting times, indeed.

Honestly, this is nothing but master trolling by Trump.  Trump's a businessman, and knows that putting a resort within the most violent and terror ridden areas on earth is not the best of investments.  OTOH, I am getting more impressed by the day.

It's kind of like invading Panama, Canada (51st state) , and Greenland....   No one believes that.

Yes, Gaza has Mediterranean beach front, but ... it's in a really bad neighborhood, occupied by people who to kill Israeli's and Americans, and surrounded by countries that hate the West.

Good luck finding an insurance company willing to proivde property, auto, and casualty insurance.

I am envisioning an Orlando-type experience underground with the many miles of tunnels.

Just think - you can live in hotels setup there, have fun riding the tracks down the systems, and mazes will be over-the-top,

And it will be happening all under the feet of the populace above.

Trump’s Gaza ‘Riviera’ plan is the most outlandish idea in the history of US Middle East peacemaking

CNN  —

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu couldn’t keep the smirk off his face.

And no wonder.

Netanyahu looked on in the White House on Tuesday as President Donald Trump delivered the most stunning US intervention in the long history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The president repeatedly doubled down on his suggestion that nearly 2 million Palestinians should be relocated from battle-leveled Gaza to new homes elsewhere so that the US could send troops to the Strip, take ownership and build the “Riviera of the Middle East.”

“You build really good quality housing, like a beautiful town, like some place where they can live and not die, because Gaza is a guarantee that they’re going to end up dying,” Trump told reporters.

In a few words, Trump conjured up a mind-boggling geopolitical transformation of the Middle East and a political lifeline for Netanyahu – showing why the prime minister, despite their past tensions, was rooting for his host’s return to power in the 2024 election.

Netanyahu can now bill himself to right-wing factions in his coalition, which incessantly threaten his grip on power, as the unique and vital conduit to Trump. The American president’s views now parallel Israeli hardliners’ desire to see Palestinians ousted from part of what they view as the sacred land of Israel.

Israel’s far-right former national security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who quit Netanyahu’s war cabinet earlier this year to protest the Gaza ceasefire deal, confirmed the synergy between Trump’s thinking and extreme conservatives in Israel.

“Donald, this looks like the beginning of a beautiful friendship,” he wrote in a post on X. .............
