RFK’s hearings remove all doubt: He’s not fit to lead a key federal health agency

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s two-day Senate confirmation hearing should remove all doubt: He’s absolutely unfit to head the Department of Health and Human Services.

His testimony did nothing to change anyone’s mind about that.

Take his refusal to deny a link between vaccines and autism — despite mountains of scientific evidence refuting any such connection.

“Will you reassure mothers — unequivocally and without qualification — that the measles and hepatitis B vaccines do not cause autism?” the would-be HHS boss was asked.

“If you show me data, I will be the first person to assure the American people that they need to take those vaccines,” he responded.

Uh, has he heard of Google?
“The evidence is there,” pressed Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who happened to be on the right side for a change. “Vaccines do not cause autism. Do you agree with that?”

RFK refused to budge: “I’m not going to go into HHS with any preordained –” the nominee responded, before being cut off by his flabbergasted questioner.

Is the worm in his brain qualified?

They don't know what causes autism. Kind of hard to rule something out when it isn't known - or is that more "settled" science on display?

Hey, if people long for the glory days smallpox, polio, scarlet fever, and iron lungs, go for it.

If it feels good, do it ... until it kills you and everyone you love.

RFK isn't against vaccines per se. His kids are vaccinated. There's good cause to be against the COVID shot that isn't really a vaccine. Something they had to change the definition of to make it qualify.

IMHO I believe this country will benefit with RFK Jr.'s input and research.

About whom do you refer? If RFK, Jr., then it's a mischaracterization of what he's said.

That's what I took away from it as well. I don't see any reason that it shouldn't be looked into.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
If the adjuvants and preservatives in vaccines don't cause autism, hen it won't hurt to investigate it, will it? How about some investigation that isn't funded by the companies hawking these products, and getting away from the "safe and effective" sales pitches long enough to look?

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
