I have been to Haiti. Trump is wrong about Haiti. Totally wrong. If Haiti would become a SH*THOLE, it would be a step up.
Haiti is the finest example I know of a people that are totally inbred, with very limited intelligence, highly self destructive, with rampant disease part of daily life, almost no one working in the country, they literally have 80%+ unemployment, almost no industry of any kind, etc, etc.
We should ban anyone entering the USA from Haiti. PERIOD!!!
IMPORTANT TO KNOW: IF YOU FLY INTO HAITI, AND PLAN TO STAY FOR X DAYS, AND AFTER BEING THERE YOU DECIDE YOU WANT OUT OF THE COUNTRY AT AN EARLIER DATE, THEY WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO LEAVE EARLY. THEY WILL DO EVERYTHING THEY CAN TO KEEP YOU THERE AGAINST YOUR WILL, EVEN IF THERE ARE EMPTY SEATS ON AMERICAN AIRLINES, I.E. AMERICAN AIRLINES [THE COMPANY], THEY WILL NOT LET YOU CHANGE YOUR TICKET AND DEPART EARLY.
When I went there, I flew in on a Tuesday, planned to depart on Saturday. I was going to meet a friend of my wife's while there, and he promised to show me the island, a man that had dual citizenship and was there the same time I was flying in. I had business on Wednesday, the day after arriving, and was free to see the country after that. The friend never showed up to meet me as planned. Despite having actual contact with him while there, he never showed. I have never wanted to beat another human into pulp as much as I did him after he left me there hanging at the airport and not showing. As a white person, your life is in danger every hour you are there unless you are escorted by someone. I was warned repeatedly NOT to go anywhere on my own, because they will kill you here.
After you hear that a few times, it becomes a bit unnerving.
Trump would be wise to ban any entry by folks from Haiti. PERIOD. We already have too many Haitians in the USA.
Haiti is not safe in any aspect. On my way there, I sat between two medical missionaries and they told me they got several vaccines for diseases rampant on the island. That did not occur to me before flying there. 2nd day there, I ran into one of the missionaries on the streets when I was touring about with a man that was a Haitian staying at my hotel who offered to show me his country.
She informed me they conducted a clinic for the locals and had 300 people show up for medical care. It was there that morning she was made aware of a yellow fever outbreak, and she/they did not get vaccines for yellow fever, which was transmitted by mosquitoes. Her whole team was upset about that.
While in my hotel room, where there was no mosquito netting over the bed, I sat there slapping my hands at least every minute while awake killing a mosquito. When I tried to sleep, I literally wrapped my body like a mummy, including my head, and I woke up with a dozen mosquito bites over my body. After I completed my business the day after arriving, and the friend of my wife standing me up, I wanted to get out of Dodge. At 5 AM after not really being able to sleep much, I got up and headed to the airport on Thursday, two days before planned.
At the terminal, with no air conditioning, and hotter than Hades, they would not allow anyone except those with a ticket for that day's departure to approach the ticket counter for American Airlines. The 1st flight out was at 7:50AM. I was the 1st person there, around 5:30AM, (standing only, no seats in the whole airport) in the line being held back, the line growing to 200 people easily by 10AM. There was a 2nd flight out by American Airlines around 11:50AM. Again, there were two gatekeepers preventing folks that did not have a ticket for that day to approach the counter, at each end of the serpentine leading to the counter.
At 30 minutes before the departure of the 2nd flight, the gatekeeper at the front walked off, and there was a mad rush to go through the serpentine roped lines to get to the front and approach the airline counter. There was a gatekeeper at the front too. With the rush, there were a dozen or so folks that rushed and got ahead of me, and the woman behind me, who was another medical missionary from Atlanta that had become symptomatic with something and she wanted to return home to her doctor. Bottom line she was like me, and everyone else in line, wanting to get out of Dodge ahead of time.
I told the front gatekeeper, 'if I am not on that plane leaving next, I intend to cause a riot and tear the airport apart.' Literally. The woman behind me 2nd my sentiment. The gatekeeper responds to both of us, do you have carryon or are you checking luggage? We both said, carryon only. She allowed ONLY the two of us to approach the counter, pay to have our ticket changed and board the jet leaving minutes after we got on board.
Once the flight levelled out, I asked a flight attendant how many empty seats were on the plane, which were plainly evident throughout the jet. She indicated 80 empty seats. At the time, that meant 80 x $100 for the change fee, or $8,000 in lost revenue for American Airlines. Now that fee is $200. And I would bet they are still trying to keep anyone from leaving early.
If our State Department was worth a good BM, they would restrict anyone from the USA traveling to Haiti. It is NOT safe to travel to on so many fronts, that allowing travel there is totally negligent of our lame federal
government.
BTW, the Vatican completely pulled out of Haiti shortly after I was there in 2002. Perhaps they have gone back in, but back then, they withdrew from the country claiming it was not safe to have their people there. So, the very last organization that should be saying anything condemning to the USA is the Vatican. That clown act has no credibility from my viewpoint. NONE!!!
One final note: the man from my hotel that took me on a tour around the Port au Prince, every place he took me to was closed. We drove out into the countryside, which had me a bit nervous to a would be rum factory, it was closed. One place after another, all gone. The man, who had been in the USA for 10 years, back to visit his mother, could not believe how destroyed his country was with everything shut down. He actually had tears in his eyes with what he saw. And I am sure it became worse since then.
TRUMP IS 100% RIGHT. PUSH EVERY HAITIAN BACK TO THE ISLAND AND END INVOLVEMENT WITH THE ISLAND.
The only thing we should offer folks on the island is free sterilization, and abortions. This is truly a land where if the population dropped off to zero, it would be no loss to humanity. The gene pool there is the worst I have ever seen, but I recently saw a chart indicating there are roughly 40 other countries with lower intelligence levels on average than Haiti. Frankly, I cannot imagine it.
