US freezes almost all foreign aid

The US State Department has frozen nearly all foreign assistance worldwide effective immediately days after President Donald Trump issued a sweeping executive order Monday to put a hold on such assistance for 90 days.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio sent a cable, seen by CNN, to all US diplomatic posts on Friday outlining the move, which threatens billions of dollars of funding from the State Department and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) for programs worldwide.

Foreign assistance has been the target of ire from Republicans in Congress and Trump administration officials, but the funding accounts for very little of the overall US budget. The scope of the executive order and subsequent cable has left humanitarian officials reeling.

The cable calls for immediate “stop work” orders on existing foreign assistance and pauses new aid. In the coming month, the cable said, the administration will develop standards for a review of whether the assistance is “aligned with President Trump’s foreign policy agenda.”

“Decisions whether to continue, modify, or terminate programs will be made following this review,” the cable states, noting that such a review should be completed within 85 days.

The order from the State Department provides a waiver for emergency food assistance as well as for foreign military financing for Israel and Egypt. The cable does not specifically mention any other countries that receive foreign military financing like Ukraine or Taiwan. ...................

Two senior security officials at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) were threatened with arrest and then put on leave after refusing to let Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) access systems at the agency.

In a report on Sunday, CNN said that personnel from DOGE were initially stopped after they tried to physically access USAID facilities in Washington, D.C., on Saturday night. The DOGE personnel, who do not officially work for the U.S. government, demanded access and then threatened to call U.S. Marshalls.
 
"Three of the sources said the DOGE personnel wanted to gain access to security systems and personnel files. Two of those sources said also they wanted access to classified information," CNN reported.

The deep state still doesn't get it.  They haven't figured out Trump's administration isn't playing games, posturing, or anything of the sort.  They aren't playing games and aren't going to be bullied like Biden could.  They actually are making it easier for Trump to clean out the scum that has enveloped the government. :amen:

The agency’s staff numbers more than 10,000, the majority of whom are overseas.

I am ecstatic over this.  After three years of bitching about Biden's 'Ukraine Aid' money being siphoned off to USAID instead, people are finally taking notice of the lawlessness of this organization.  Cut off all funding now.  Let the Democrats starve.

So if it was a front for the CIA, when does the Papa Bear get their teeth shoved in?

I say reduce CIA, FBI, NSA, and all other intelligence agencies by 70%.  They will probably accomplish four times as much results by doing so.  I am sure diminishing returns is at its highest with these agencies.

I think we are coming close to finding out that our federal government was 100X more corrupt than even our wildest dreams.

Our hopes to all, Trump, Musk, Patel, et. al who might be blowing a lid on the scandal of the millennium.

Trump has moved very quickly, IIRC I believe he fired those in the FBI involved with J6,  he may have fired more.

I believe I was the first person in America to post this solution to dismantling the bureaucracy to the net and getting it under control.

I do not think American Christians realize how perverse our international influence has become.

The pastor of the largest church in Chile spoke at Lakepointe en Español last year. He explained that despite having a deeply traditional view of gender / family, they had begun aggressively teaching LGBT ideology in Chilean public schools... to the horror of Chilean parents. Why? Because Chile feared losing USAID if they didn't.

I didn't understand what he meant until this week.

But there was nothing illegal, unethical, or inappropriate about DOGE’s takeover of USAID, and nobody has presented any evidence that it threatens national security. The American people elected Trump who appointed Musk to oversee DOGE, as Trump has a right to do. ...
