Any claim of causation that runs from climate to weather is absurd to the point of silliness. The mantra "weather is not climate" is true, but hides the fact that climate is weather, averaged over time and location. Claiming that any weather event is due to climate change is like claiming that a batter hitting a home run and getting on base two other times in a game is due to an increase in his batting average.
Weather events may be evidence of climate change (when you pile up a lot of them), but they are cannot be caused by climate change.
(Note: I am using the phrase "climate change" in its English denotation, not its Newspeak denotation which can be equivalent to any one of the English phrases "climate change", "anthropogenic climate change", "greenhouse-gas driven climate change", "global warming" or probably two or three others as suits the interests of the global center-left elite at any given time. Real-world Newspeak works the opposite of the way Orwell predicted, it does not narrow the meaning of words so only approved thoughts can be expressed, it expands the meaning of words so that contradicting approved thoughts can be ridiculed by shifting the meaning from one to another at need.)
