Just under 24 million Americans have purchased health coverage through the Affordable Care Act's exchanges for 2025, marking yet another year of record-high enrollment.

As in previous years, the Biden administration was quick to declare this surge in sign-ups a victory for patients. "Every American should have access to quality, affordable health care," said then-Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra in response to the news. "[A]nd thanks to the ACA, they do."

That claim doesn't square with the evidence.


Americans haven't enrolled in Obamacare exchange plans in record numbers because of the quality of the coverage.

The US (Public) Health Care System is undergoing a slow-motion collapse.

More doctors and nurses will leave the professional or join private concierge practices that don't accept insurance, Medicare, nor Medicaid.

The low re-imbursement rates and delayed payments to medical practitioners are forcing them to longer accept insurance.

I totally agree. When I get an EOB from Medicare I'm amazed that they even let me step in the door.

I didn't read this article in its entirety, but from other articles I have read, OCare in many instances has such high deductibles, out of pocket and exclusions it is useless. Sadly, a person can't even get any kind of care without some kind of insurance.

When it came out I priced it on the exchange. Best I could do was $28 K a year for a family of 4, with a $14K deductible.

We did without.
