Trump teased he may release 'very nice' letter from Biden

The letter that former President Joe Biden wrote to President Donald Trump upon leaving office on Monday has been exclusively obtained by Fox News.

The letter, which Trump found inside the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office with a little help from Fox News Senior White House correspondent Peter Doocy, is addressed "Dear President Trump" and reads as follows:

"As I take leave of this sacred office I wish you and your family all the best in the next four years.  The American people – and people around the world – look to this house for steadiness in the inevitable storms of history, and my prayer is that in the coming years will be a time of prosperity, peace, and grace for our nation.

"May God bless you and guide you as He has blessed and guided our beloved country since our founding."

The letter was signed "Joe Biden" and dated Jan. 20, 2025.

Biden has frequently displayed grace and humility.  It made him popular.  But the fact that he has been so nasty during his waning years leads me to conclude it was just an act.

In a tradition that dates back decades, outgoing presidents leave a personal letter to their successor, offering words of wisdom, encouragement, and well wishes for the years ahead. Former President Joe Biden has followed suit, leaving a note for President Donald Trump as he prepares to return to the White House.

The letter contains Biden’s wishes for Trump’s success and for the nation’s continued prosperity. “As I take leave of this sacred office, I wish you and your family all the best in the next four years,” Biden wrote.

“The American people – and people around the world – look to this house for steadiness in the inevitable storms of history, and my prayer is that the coming years will be a time of prosperity, peace, and grace for our nation.” Biden concluded the letter with a call for divine guidance, writing, “May God bless you and guide you as He has blessed and guided our beloved country since our founding.”

The contents of the letter provide a contrast to the often contentious political rivalry between the two leaders. Biden’s presidency, marked by significant policy differences from Trump’s first term, saw deep divisions across the political spectrum.

It was written in cursive. His staff never learned in school how to write in cursive.
