Here’s a map showing Chinese-owned farmland conveniently located near 19 U.S. military bases.
But yes, please tell me more about how banning TikTok is because we have a government deeply committed to protecting our national security.

If this weekend has shown me anything, it is that way too many people are flat-out addicted to that app, and that's a really, really bad thing. Multiple friends confessed to compulsively checking the app even after it had been shut off.

What the **** is wrong with us? First we sold off our economy, now we sold off our minds to the same country that just five years ago plunged the world into lockdown?

I was with a 20-something the other day, and she admitted that the first thing she does in the morning is check TikTok. Then she checks it while she's brushing her teeth. For what? Videos ats falling off sofas? "Influencers" saying something stupid?

It's really difficult for this old person to understand.

From the "keep it banned" perspective:

It’s weird that I have to say this…

Yes, Tik Tok should be banned.

Duh.

When we say it’s a “national security threat” that means Tik Tok tracks your keystrokes in order to feed you content to form your brain.

Trans ideology, CRT, anti-Americanism, pro-Osama Bin Laden, etc etc

Because the Chinese Communist Party who controls the app wants to destroy America from within. And they are—by indoctrinating the minds of the next generation with weird cultural communist on Tik Tok.

It’s an existential threat to the future of America.

It’s not about free speech. Chinese Communists don’t have any rights to the minds of our youth.

And lest anyone be naive, the Chinese Communists are proving it’s about indoctrination & not about speech because they’ve been offered fair market  value to purchase Tik Tok… and they refused. The only reason to refuse is because they don’t care about money, they care only about capturing the minds of our youth.

I get that Trump wants young people to see his inauguration content on Tik Tok. So do I. So force the CCP to sell. Which Trump might be doing with his threat of 50/50 ownership, signaling to the Chinese that he’ll do to them what they do to American businesses in China.

But on the question of whether Chinese owned Tik Tok should be banned? Insane that anyone says no.

TikTok is Chinese spyware and should not be allowed to operate in the U.S. while the Chinese government has access to the personal information of Americans.
ByteDance, TikTok’s owner, was already forced to admit it used TikTok to spy on the movements of American journalists.

The Chinese were trying to put in a 'corn milling facility' on the property near Grand Forks, ND. Last I heard, the zoning commission stopped that. Grand Forks is where a lot of drone research goes on...

  • Didn't vote for McCain Dole Romney Trump !
Why the heck would Trump save a communist app that rots American brains? It was funny that NBC was doing some article about another China Tic-Tok similar app they thought would replace... Why would you even advertise for more of the same unless you were in bed with China? Why the heck do we even allow trade with China, they want us dead dead dead.

Ted Cruz: TikTok’s Return Would Be a ‘Very Dangerous Situation’
As Trump prepares to take office, the MAGA movement is divided over the app. ‘Their kids are studying calculus and our kids are being told to chew Tide Pods.’

The Free Press is in D.C. for inauguration weekend, and the one thing dominating the conversation—even more than president-elect Trump—is TikTok.

On January 17, the Supreme Court ruled unanimously that Congress’s law forcing a divestiture of TikTok “is necessary to address [Congress’s] well-supported national security concerns regarding TikTok’s data collection practices and relationship with a foreign adversary” and thus did not violate the First Amendment. This meant that TikTok, since it had failed to secure a sale to a buyer not controlled by a “foreign adversary,” needed to shut down by Sunday.

On Saturday, TikTok announced that the app was going dark. Soon thereafter, news broke that president-elect Trump might even be open to nationalizing half the social-media app.

By Sunday around noon, after the previous night’s brief shutdown, Trump had promised to issue an executive order on Monday to “extend the period of time before the law’s prohibitions take effect.” TikTok announced that “In agreement with our service providers” the company “is in the process of restoring service. We thank President Trump for providing the necessary clarity and assurance to our service providers that they will face no penalties providing TikTok to over 170 million Americans and allowing over 7 million small businesses to thrive.” ...

So who gets all the data?

I don't use it, myself.

It's all on Oracle servers.

Oddly, Oracle doesn't see any problem corroborating with the Red Chinese.

But Amazon, Apple and Google can all shut down Parler. (Which I have noticed in my email inbox, they've relaunched and are trying another comeback.)

Tear down our youth with stupid challenges and content curated to sow doubt in basic social institutions? You get a pass. Question an election conducted under emergency powers known to favor one party over another? You get shut down.
