DC Federal Workers Caught Living In California, Oregon, Colorado, 60 Percent Of Federal Workforce Telework
Some 228,000 federal workers are never required to show up

January 16, 2025

The inspector general of the Interior Department warns government employees who claim to live in the District of Columbia actually reside in other states while claiming to live in the nation’s capitol to cheat Uncle Sam of extra pay.

These federal workers are receiving enhanced wages while residing in lower-cost regions.

Two federal Interior Department employees were discovered to live in Oregon, three were found to live in Colorado while another who is supposed to be working in the District of Columbia area resides in Southern California and rarely, if ever, travels to the nation’s capital.

Federal employees began egregiously milking the system during pandemic lockdowns. They never stopped, refusing to return to the office and the Biden administration has been indifferent to the deception, unwilling to address the issue or prod them.

Congressional Republicans are calling for President-elect Donald Trump to crack down on the no-shows.

That means that there are at least 228,000 federal workforce jobs that can be eliminated very soon.

Certain workers in departments that maintain "public-facing" offices around the country -- such as Social Security and the IRS -- should have 100% of their workers ordered back to the office immediately.

Refusal should equal dismissal.

I posted this before, but I'll repeat:
Went to the local Social Security office here (which has the IRS just down the hall).
When I parked, I noticed that the lot (which usually is all-but full) was half-empty.
Went into the building. Promptly confronted by a couple of guards.
Can I speak to someone in the Social Security office? NO.
Can I go in and make an appointment? NO.
How do you talk to them? Telephone.
Same for the IRS.

It didn't occur to me until a while later (remember, I'm the dumbest guy in the forum) that there probably was next-to-nobody actually IN the office, and that's why the guards were there - to prevent anyone from going inside and discovering this.

Order them back to work, Mr. Trump.
Or... tell 'em to start lookin' for another job.

I'd wager at least half of them have been receiving their full federal paycheck while they work other jobs for cash. Who would know? There's no accountability.
