It’s 41 in Tampa.  The snow clouds are recognizable, but the precip didn’t reach the ground as frozen until you get to Ocala and points north.

46 here in SWFL and it's overcast and rainy. Friday we will dip down into the 30's, pretty darn cold for this area. I may wrap the outside water pipes to be on the safe side.

We were in the single digits this morning.... Brrr... House got down to about 62 degrees and just now back up to 64 with the wood heater going Full-Monty balls out. Afraid that this will have killed out Camilla tree that nearly died a few years ago when it got close to zero.

Got a Turkey going in the oven, more or less for the heat the oven puts out.

I just unwrapped my 5 orange trees. They are in great shape. I did crack a couple of long limbs wrapping them up with beach towels and then forcing contractor trash bags over them.

Back when I only had a Satsuma tree around 7 feet tall. I just opened a parachute over it and placed a kerosene heater under it. At the worst, I'd lose the top 2-3 ft branches.

I now need to just watch and see if I need to rewrap them.

Yay!  Glad to hear the your orange trees are in good shape.  I don't know, replanting trees are a lot of work, I think I'd rewrap them just to be on the safe side.

Should slow down the Boas and Anacondas in the swamps. Could be a good time for a roundup! (Enough of that 'relocation' stuff, sell the hides and steaks!)

Actually, it doesn't kill the iguanas (normally) but puts them into a comatose state or very sluggish when temps start dropping into the 40's.  I haven't see the really big one or any of the babies for a couple of weeks.  I put rosemary along the seawall and that's supposed to keep them away.

It's not going to bother me a bit of this cold snap does kill them; tonight we are supposed to dip down to about 37.  That's plenty cold to keep them from moving around at least.

Yes if they are in a tree, they can fall out when cold weather hits.  I've never witnessed it, but I've seen pictures.

We ain't got all that up in here... The only thing falling out of the trees is snow.  happy77

I kinda get it though... I have seen garter snakes get caught out in the cold... Used to pick em up and put em on the well house roof... Frozen like a popsicle and a few minutes on that roof, they'd be just fine.

Houston news showed Beaumont at 8 degrees.
We were at 18 in Sugar Land.

Thank goodness! It's in the 50s! and supposed to stay there thru next week.

I shut off the propane guzzling furnace and the faucets that I've had dripping since Sunday. I dread getting my electric/water bills! And going out to check my propane level. :scared smiley:

Maybe, just maybe  only 5 more weeks to go. February is usually pretty bad.
