Rachel Maddow Returns to Five Days a Week After Ratings Crisis
« on: January 13, 2025, 04:31:04 pm »
That should grow ratings.  5 night of Madcow.

Rachel Maddow will be back hosting her eponymous MSNBC show five nights a week through President Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office, returning to a weeklong stint after months of ratings woes.

Maddow will move from a one-day to a five-day-a-week schedule hosting The Rachel Maddow Show starting Jan. 20, MSNBC announced Monday. Alex Wagner, who has filled out the 9 p.m. hour Tuesday through Friday with Alex Wagner Tonight, will begin a reporting tour across the U.S. examining the effects of Trump’s early policies. Both shows will return to their normal schedule on May 1.

MSNBC President Rashida Jones praised the setup in a statement. “The moment we’re in requires us to cover the early days of the new administration from all over the country—from the nation’s capital, where policy is being implemented, to talking to those in key communities and constituencies impacted by those policies,” Jones said. “No one is better equipped to bring those stories from the field to MSNBC viewers than our intrepid Alex Wagner.”

The move comes as the 9 p.m. on the network has flailed since the 2024 election, with Maddow’s ratings down by double digits following Trump’s win.

You don’t become cooler with age but you do care progressively less about being cool, which is the only true way to actually be cool.
