Not only does D.E.I. promote potentially unprepared people to positions of authority, it also drives the most capable, most competent, and most mobile persons out of the organization.

It's the first domino to fall in a spiraling descent of organization ineffectiveness and failure.

In the end, competent, experienced people will need to be brought in to rebuild the organization if it hadn't completely collapsed.
You must be talking about the US military, aren't you?

Adding a bit of detail, LA had 3 million gallons of water in Pacific Palisades tanks (a system separate from general-use reservoirs). This got depleted in less than a day, and LA's pump capacity to replenish the tanks was inadequate.

BS! The State of California does not control or maintain LA County Fire Department's water storage system, which is separate from California's many and almost full reservoirs.

There's a lot of gratuitous and misguided blamestorming going on right now. This is just part of it.

Hopefully in the aftermath of all these fires someone will finally see the sense of spending the extra money to build homes that will survive wildfires intact.

Elon Musk’s SpaceX to Provide Free Starlink Terminals to Areas Affected by Los Angeles Wildfires

Elon Musk said his SpaceX company will provide free Starlink terminals to the Los Angeles areas affected by the raging and catastrophic wildfires. The satellite internet service will help restore communication in areas devastated by the ongoing fires.

And are they getting paid to do so?

And is Karen Bass silent because she's under marching orders?

Powerful, timely memo.

Bass was one of three "Women of Color" picked for a possible Vice President to Joe Biden

The others being Kamala Harris and Stacey Abrams.

Got desalinization plants?

Nevermind.  The Cali-Krats reject those, too.
Actually Noisome was for desalination plants, it was unelected, unqualified board that denied them because they would contribute to global warming and drought and god knows what other idiocy the idiots could come up with.

Why doesn't greaseball have a SAT phone?  It has been known for days that the cell service is down due to the fires.

I can't say anything that hasn't been said. But it is completely amazing. Sure, I've seen wildfires before, but not in such a heavily populated area. The Hawaii fire was in a residential area, but not as large. It's almost mind boggling.

In the real world, Federal courts have mandated a certain level of water flow into the Delta from the Sacramento River. In that same real world, the 8th largest reservoir in the US, Lake Shasta on the Sacramento River, is at 96.6% of "full pool", https://www.lakelevels.info/USA/California/ . Lake Oroville, CA's second largest reservoir, on the Feather River, a tributary of the Sacramento, is at about 92%. Folsom Lake on the American River is at 85.5%. As can be seen on the chart several reservoirs are above "full pool". The list is very incomplete, BTW. I could name half a dozen or more reservoirs not on the list.

California is only lacking in reservoirs in the sense that the enviros have succeeded in blocking more over the past few decades, though a very large one is planned for, IIRC, the end of this decade. The other problem, besides the enviros, is that suitable creeks/rivers and and sites for dams and valleys for the lakes are no longer plentiful.

And what state, more than any other, put those laws in place?
And what state, more than any other, has blocked every attempt to repeal those laws?

Particularly the very wealthy who previously suffered very little consequences from their high mindedness that they forced on others.
