Manifest Destiny: Donald Trump Jr. Visits Greenland as His Father Considers Purchasing Arctic Landmass for USA

Nick Gilbertson 7 Jan 2025

Donald Trump Jr. visited Greenland on Tuesday as President-elect Donald Trump is considering acquiring the Arctic land mass for the United States.

“Today, I had an absolutely incredible experience in Greenland. I was almost shocked by the positive reception that we received from the locals,” Trump Jr. said in a statement to Breitbart News. ‘Many of them complained about not being allowed to access the natural resources that they possess because Denmark has restricted the people from utilizing them.

“These are people who want the opportunity to not simply survive, but to thrive. I can’t wait to get back and experience even more of this beautiful country in the not too distant future,” he added. “It was great to see that so many locals, especially the youth, were so pro-America and pro-Trump. This experience is something that I will always remember fondly.”

Trump Jr. shared a video from the cockpit of Trump Force I shortly before the plane touched down.

When he talked about Greenland during his first term, I got curious about where exactly people lived there. I used google earth and zeroed in the main population and then on to Google street view to
"drive" around the streets and look around. I'm assuming it was a fishing village, but I really don't know.

And where, precisely, is the money going to come from? We can't even take care of the US proper.

It could be a wise purchase, as were Alaska and Hawaii, but times are much different.

It turns out it is a very valuable location not just for it's minerals but also for access to the Arctic and the waterway to it's east.

I love that Trump is not only thinking about fixing our internal problems, but also planning for the geopolitical issues of the 21st century.

Lease payments from industry will more than pay for it.  It is a gold mine for future revenue.

People should consider that arguably the main interest in Greenland (and also likely Canada as well) from the Trump camp and Musk is related to vast mineral deposits, particularly those necessary for the "energy transformation" and "EV revolution" that is directly tied to the business interests of Musk as well as other prominent Big Tech figures.

For example, aside from Musk, Jeff Bezos, who recently gave very very generously to Trump's inauguration fund, backs a firm called KoBold Metals along with Bill Gates, Reid Hoffman (who both backed Kamala) and Marc Andressen (currently advising Trump on tech policy) that is drilling in Greenland for EV related minerals. Northern Canada also possesses significant deposits of minerals essential to EV production.

The "digital transformation" that these Silicon Valley oligarchs are attempting to manifest would, admittedly, require all of the known deposits of lithium, nickel, cobalt and several other minerals across the planet. The US itself is not necessarily rich in these minerals (with some occasional exceptions) but some of its neighbors are.

If you are cheerleading for this, be aware that it 1. will help accelerate the "sustainable development" "digital transformation" that needs these minerals specifically 2. is not in the interest of the public of any of these countries, but instead in the interest mainly of American tech billionaires 3. will devastate the environment of Canada and Greenland (mining these things can permanently wreck the environment and water table) 4. boosting access to EV metals will also likely require existing incentives to purchase EV cars in the US to stay so these mining ventures have a high ROI - Trump has spoken about removing them but his ties to Musk and other Big tech billionaires suggests it is unlikely
