The Georgia Republican Party has booted longtime President-elect Trump critic former Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan (R), who backed Vice President Harris’s 2024 bid for the White House.
A resolution from the state GOP’s State Executive Committee featured in a Tuesday release from the party stated the former lieutenant governor “is hereby expelled from the Georgia Republican Party.”
The Georgia Republican Party also said on Monday it was requesting Duncan be referred to “as ‘expelled Republican Geoff Duncan’ or ‘ousted Republican Geoff Duncan’ when you go to him for quotes trashing President Trump and the Republican Party,” in a media advisory posted to the social media platform X.
In a later response to the Monday X post, Duncan said it is difficult “to believe this is a good use of time for a party that’s only got a limited amount of time to figure out mass deportations, world peace and global tariffs.”
“Learn how to take a victory lap not light another dumpster fire @JoshMcKoon,” he added, taking a swing at the chair of the Georgia GOP.
