Hertz’s ambitious plan to electrify its rental fleet has failed, leading to significant financial losses, including a $1 billion impairment charge, plummeting stock prices and the resignation of CEO Stephen Scherr.

The company’s EVs were expensive to maintain, depreciated rapidly and were less popular with renters than traditional gas-powered vehicles, forcing Hertz to offload Teslas at heavily discounted prices.

The article argues that the push for EVs is part of a broader globalist agenda disguised as environmental stewardship, aiming to increase government control over individuals’ lives.

This is why the big auto manufacturers are giving tons of $$ to the incoming Trump administration - to make EV mandates absolutely mandatory, so that they don't lose big fleet customers like Hertz for their billion-dollar investments in EV manufacturing capacity.

Not Hertz, but Avis...
I had to rent a vehicle for a work trip that was ~200 miles round trip.
The attendant kept trying to get me to take a MachE Mustang. There are no chargers at this particular lot, so I was highly skeptical.
I asked him how many miles were "available" on it due to the lack of chargers. He said ~175. I almost burst out laughing.
I was going to be driving through many miles of empty desert to get to my location that had no chargers available. No way in hell was I trying that.
Left in a ICE SUV...
The EV's may have a place in urban areas where there are short distances involved and chargers are available. But not out here so much.
Throwing our allegiances to political parties in the long run gave away our liberty.

the biggest customer of all is the US government and it is highly unlikely that will remain so. In spite of Elon's insertion into Trump's circle.
