This is every bit as good as the original. It helps when the song is exceptional and the person covering it loves it. Daryl does background vocals, but Jimmy takes the lead and excels.
The actual singing begins about 3 minutes into, but I find the whole thing fascinating.

But the song was went 5X Plat in Germany one year before Pat Benatar got her hands on it...

Actual hits compared.  And considering one I'd never care to hear again, the other I adore.

I MUCH prefer the cover by Club Nouveau for "Lean on Me" over original Bill Withers.

The '80s was much more fun, and the original extremely sleepy and depressing in sound, especially for "friends".
