Democrats appear to be doubling down on their efforts to disqualify former President Donald Trump from holding office again, citing Section 3 of the 14th Amendment as their weapon of choice. This provision bars anyone who has engaged in “insurrection or rebellion” against the Constitution from holding public office, and Democrats are leaning on past impeachment trials, judicial rulings, and the January 6th Committee’s findings as evidence to support their claims.

Trump was never charged, never indicted, never tried, nor convicted of “insurrection or rebellion".  Disqualification would require depriving Trump of his right to due process.

It would also set a precedent that Dem candidates could be disqualified based upon nothing, just as they want to do to Trump.

The Dems had 3 years to prove their case to the courts and to the American people, and they whiffed.

We'll see.  If the left wants a rebellion by keeping the duly elected president of the United States from taking his oath of office, I think that's exactly what they'll get. He won by a landslide. 

There is another report going around that because there is turmoil with Speaker Johnson that Trump won't be able to be sworn in?

With the DEMS you quite never know what they'll pull, but right now, I anticipate and pray for a peaceful transformation of power and watching Trump's inaugural ball.

I've seen mention of that on X, and it's BS because the Speaker has no role in certifying a Presidential Election, that is the function of the sitting VP.  The Democrats fixed that for us by passing a law that the VP cannot refuse to certify.

IOW, they screwed themselves.  Again.

Two Democrat lawyers called for Congress to block President-elect Donald Trump from taking office in an op-ed published by the Hill on Thursday, prompting disbelief and ridicule from Republicans.

In the piece titled “Congress has the power to block Trump from taking office, but lawmakers must act now,” lawyers Evan A. Davis and David M. Schulte argued that the Constitution says an insurrectionist is ineligible to be president and “the evidence of Donald Trump’s engaging in such insurrection is overwhelming.”

They argued that the “matter has been decided in three separate forums” — one of which they said was the Rep. Nancy Pelosi-appointed January 6th Committee — which a recent House Republican review into the committee concluded was “designed to promote a political narrative” and a “tool to attack President Trump.”

Eric Trump, Trump’s second-eldest son, posted on X: “You people are sick.”

Democrats, Media Have New Strategy To Break Up Trump-Musk Honeymoon

The left-wing media and their political allies have developed a new strategy in their eternal quest to oppose Donald Trump, this time seeking to drive a wedge between him and Elon Musk.

Musk’s instrumental efforts in getting Trump elected have both endeared him to the right and put a target on his back from the left. Most recently, leftist luminaries like MSNBC’s Joy Reid have taken to mockingly referring to the Space X founder as “President Musk” in an attempt to get under Trump’s skin.

Reid’s lead prompted a number of Democratic lawmakers to steal the line. Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin and Connecticut Rep. Rosa DeLauro are all amongst a group of politicians who parroted Reid.

The accusations stemmed from Musk’s vocal opposition to an early version of the House’s continuing resolution to fund the government. The version Musk initially opposed was over 1,500 pages long and included what many GOP politicians referred to as “pork barrel” spending inclusions such as a “Feral Swine Eradication” program and an earmarked fund to provide juvenile delinquents with driver’s licenses.

Musk was hardly the only person to speak out against the bill. Scores of Republican lawmakers voiced their opposition, ultimately leading to the quadruple-digit page bill being scrapped in favor of a much shorter resolution.

DeLauro, and others, however, credited Musk with influencing the GOPers who did not want a 1,500 page bill to pass before anyone could read it.

We sure can make the argument that there are a class of American citizens that are under legal persecution and that justice is not blind, but rather is unjust depending on your political views. Trump is the most visible individual subject to this tyranny, but he is not alone.
