Gov. Hochul slammed after migrant allegedly burns woman to death on NYC subway: 'Shame on her'
Incoming border czar Tom Homan joined 'Fox & Friends' to discuss his reaction to a migrant allegedly burning a woman to death on a NYC subway and DHS Secretary Mayorkas' admission on losing track of migrant children.

A migrant from Guatemala was arrested in connection to the heinous death of a woman who was lit on fire and burned to death on a subway train in Brooklyn, New York, on Sunday.

Sources identified the person of interest to Fox News Digital as 33-year-old Sebastin Zapeta.

While police did not identify the person of interest, a high-level NYPD source told Fox News Digital the individual entered the U.S. illegally from Guatemala in 2018, when President-elect Trump was president during his first term. The person of interest has no prior arrests in New York City and one prior arrest in Arizona, the source said, though details about the arrest were not available.


Fox News Digital has reached out to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for more information on Zapeta.

In a grotesque confluence of all the horrid doings in wokester New York City, a Guatemalan migrant brazenly set a woman on fire in broad daylight in the New York subway just to watch her burn, and no Daniel Pennys came forward to stop the barbaric crime.

According to the New York Post:

    A Guatemalan migrant has been arrested for allegedly lighting a sleeping subway rider on fire in Brooklyn on Sunday morning — then watching as his innocent victim burned to death in what the police commissioner called “one of the most depraved crimes one person could possibly commit.”

    The savage killing — which happened at about 7:30 a.m. on an idling F train at the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue station — shocked commuters, MTA workers and NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, who said Sunday that the heinous crime “took the life of an innocent New Yorker.”

    “As the train pulled into the station, the suspect calmly walked up to the victim, who was in a seated position at the end of a subway car … and used what we believe to be a lighter to ignite the victim’s clothing, which became fully engulfed in a matter of seconds,” Tisch said at a press conference.

    Patrolling cops smelled and saw the smoke, then followed it to the flame-covered woman, the commissioner said.

    They extinguished the blaze, but the victim died at the scene.

    Horrifying video obtained by The Post showed the suspect calmly looking on as flames consumed the still-unidentified woman, who stood inside the open subway car door.

UPDATE: Illegal Alien Arrested for Torching Woman in NYC Subway Was Deported by Trump, Reentered US as ‘Unknown Gotaway’
 
An illegal alien who was arrested for setting a woman on fire as she slept in a New York City subway car was previously deported by President Trump’s Border Patrol but snuck back into the country undetected and stayed in a Big Apple ‘migrant hotel,’ according to reports.

Following his apprehension on Sunday, authorities identified the suspect as 33-year-old Sebastian Zapeta, a Guatemalan national who entered the U.S. during the Trump administration under circumstances that were undisclosed at the time.

It has since come to light that Zapeta was caught after illegally crossing the southern border in June of 2018 and quickly deported six days later, Department of Homeland Security sources informed Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin.

Zapeta then reentered the U.S. at an unknown location and date, making him one of millions of ‘gotaways’ lurking across the country.

The woman who was heinously burned alive in a New York City subway car last week has been identified as a 57-year-old woman from New Jersey, Fox News Digital has learned.

Police tell Fox News Digital the woman has been identified as Debrina Kawam of Toms River, a township and coastal town located on the Jersey Shore in Ocean County. Kawam was lit on fire and burned to death on a subway train in Brooklyn, New York, on Dec. 22.

Officials were unable to identify Kawam's body for days after the attack because she was so severely burned. The NYPD did not provide an official cause of death.
