Joe Biden Considers A Scorched Earth Policy On His Way Out The Door

Scorched earth is one of the most brutal strategies in war.  It can be an offensive or a defensive strategy and usually leaves a wasteland of destruction and starvation in its wake.  One of the most famous examples of offensive use of scorched earth is Sherman’s “March to the Sea” from Atlanta to Savannah in November to December 1864.  He not only burned Atlanta to the ground, but for a wide swath of the ocean, he left a trail of destruction, from military targets to infrastructure to crops.  The goal of course was to damage the military, but more than that to destroy everything and impede logistics and commerce.  The larger goal was to break the morale of the South and any hope that they could not only never win but show them that their lives would be destroyed if they continued to fight.  He succeeded in spades and his campaign proved critical to the Confederacy’s surrender five months later.

I believe her to be a vindictive and hateful woman and Joe, even on his lucid days, is all to happy to do her bidding.

I don't know whether Joe has anyone who's the least bit loyal to him, other than Jill.

Joe is utterly incapable of making such decisions. He can't even decide whether to have vanilla or chocolate chip ice cream tonight. This is all Jill.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
