U.S. CENTCOM Forces Eliminate ISIS Leader In Precision Airstrike In Syria

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces successfully carried out a precision airstrike in Syria’s Dayr az Zawr Province, eliminating ISIS leader Abu Yusif, also known as Mahmud, along with another ISIS operative.

The operation on Thursday, part of CENTCOM’s ongoing campaign to dismantle terrorist networks, targeted ISIS efforts to organize and execute attacks against civilians, U.S. military personnel, and allied forces in the region and beyond.
 

“This airstrike underscores our commitment to preventing ISIS from regaining strength and conducting external operations,” said Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, CENTCOM commander. “We will aggressively target these leaders and operatives, including those plotting attacks outside Syria.”

Maybe the US should go full-pager rather than targeting a few top-level leaders. Dumb down the sounder the way Israel has been doing.

The brilliance of the Israeli approach is that it takes out #1, #2...etc, down a few levels in the food chain. Mostly 'chiefs' and not so many grunts, but the grunts it gets are the active ones who do or organize the shaking and moving...
