The suspect is an approximately 50-year-old doctor from Saudi Arabia who has lived in Germany since 2006.

A rental car was used. Possibility there was explosives in the car as well.

I am going out on a limb and say this was not an accident, since the person knew to turn at the end of the road/alley... I person that disoriented and hits the gas pedal does not behave like that.

When the TSA came into being, instead of confiscating nail clippers and embroidery scissors, I said they should issue each adult passenger a razor sharp K-Bar, and collect them at the end of the trip. The passengers know if someone takes over the plane they are likely dead people flying, and would react to prevent that. No one is going to mess with a planeload of people who have the means and desperation to slice and dice them.

If there was once a day when the Associated Press was the gold standard of journalism, it now seems like eons ago for a media organization that has become a shameful peddler of propaganda, half-truths, and outright lies.

On Friday afternoon the news broke of a horrific incident at a Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany when a speeding vehicle plowed through a crowd of revelers, turning a festive occasion into a nightmare in which at least two people were killed and 60-80 injured.

Adding to the horror are signs that it could have been a terrorist attack with the driver of the BMW being identified as a 50-year-old doctor from Saudi Arabia who, according to authorities, was arrested with an explosive device that would seem to suggest that there may have been Islamist motivation to the shocking pre-holiday violence.

But rather than report on the shocking story honestly, AP’s headline seemed to suggest that the carnage was caused by a self-driving car, a prime example of how the biggest media lies are the lies of omission

It's an object lesson that's even more important in the Internet age that waiting for the facts to emerge in a story before rushing to judge the situation is necessary.

Some, including PJ Media's Robert Spencer, are advancing this theory. Robert is an expert in Islam and a very smart fellow, but I think in this case, he is seeing something that isn't there.

The evidence is overwhelming that Abdulmoshen was an anti-Islam activist, as fervent in his beliefs and actions as Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the noted campaigner for women's rights in Muslim countries.

So what happened? It appears that Abdulmoshen became increasingly embittered by the way that Germans were treating him and other Saudi refugees. He claimed he was being censored, which seems entirely reasonable. Critics of Islam have a hard time in Germany and most of Western Europe.

He claimed the German government was committing “deliberate crimes” against refugees from Saudi Arabia. He retweeted anti-Islam comments by other activists and far-right supporters in Germany.

Was he simply attacking German people because of their government? Or did he do it for that reason plus creating anti-Islam first-impressions, i.e. false-flag? Black swan events, by definition, rare and unexpected, do happen.

No matter how reasonable a hasty wrong conclusion might seem, it's still wrong.
