Johnson's Latest Spending Scheme Proves He's Dems' Useful Idiot

It’s another day that ends in “-y,” which means House Speaker Mike Johnson is busy stabbing conservative voters in the back.

Following days of backdoor scheming, congressional leaders released the text of their 1,547-page spending measure to fund the federal government through March 2025. Deceptively marketed as a “continuing resolution” or CR, the bill bears all the hallmarks of the bloated omnibus packages Johnson recently promised voters wouldn’t happen under his watch.

“We have broken the Christmas omni and I have no intention of going back to that terrible tradition,” Johnson told reporters in September. “So, there won’t be a Christmas omnibus.”

Now here we are in December, and what do have but a massive omnibus filled with all the pork items on the D.C. establishment’s wish list.

Kind of makes you wonder whether he and Trump even talk shop.

If there is a time for a Government shutdown, now is it - immediately after the election during the lame duck session(s).

Nothing will change until our elected officials feel our pain and fear our wrath at the ballot box.

Note seat is safe.  No district is safe.  We need to keep our elected representatives running scared.

They've played us for chumps for way too long.

Back in my working days, we used to during weather events as an example, make a plant announcement  "That non-essential personnel can leave for the day". And then watched who left.   :cool:

This whole government spending and shut down fiasco reminds me of an alcoholic who claims they are going to quit drinking.....   Tomorrow.

Forcing Congress members to remain in DC over the Holidays would light a fire under their asses to accomplish something.

If they can't go home ... if they can't attend fundraisers ... they'll be motivated to do their jobs.

The FY25 budget was due October 1st.  Bills of Appropriaiton are #1 job of House.

We may have to go through House GOP leaders like Lincoln went through generals until he found a winner in General Grant.

At my job, you can take a look at the cars left in the parking lot at 5:45 pm and see who is actually running the plant.

Doesn't work for congress, as they likely get chauffeured in.  One of the many perks they have which normal people like us do not have.
