'There's always consequences': GOP rebels plot mutiny against Johnson over government shutdown drama
The partial government shutdown deadline is Friday

House GOP hardliners are furious with how congressional leaders are handling the ongoing government funding talks, with some even suggesting they could withhold support from House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., to head their conference again over his handling of the matter.

Negotiators are working on a short-term extension of current government funding levels known as a continuing resolution (CR). A bill must pass the House and Senate by the end of Friday, Dec. 20 to avoid a partial government shutdown just before the holidays.

"The speaker definitely has some ‘no’ votes and some people considering their options," one GOP lawmaker granted anonymity to speak candidly told Fox News Digital on Tuesday.

That lawmaker also accused Johnson of using President-elect Donald Trump’s own support for the Louisiana Republican as cover.

As they should.  Two frigging years, and we're still operating off the 2022 Democrat budget.

What's the point of having a GOP majority in the House if they don't produce budgets with reduced Federal spending?

What else do they have to do that is more important than passing budgets?  -  Fundraising?  Investigations to nowhere?  Impeachments about nothing?  Avenging Trump's enemies?  Cocaine-fueled orgies?  Legislative circle-jerks?

Next Speaker up.

We don't elect Republicans to pass continuing resolutions of Pelosi's budget.

Budgets aren't sexy, but they are Job #1 and are necessary to constrain Government.

I'm not necessarily a Johnson fan, but given the slim majority and the divisions within the Repubs his hands are somewhat tied, imho.

I don't see much of a change for the next session. So if they oust him who would they elect? And an even better question, who would want the position. It's a no win place to be.

The Democrats were able to put in place the budget we have been running on for the past 3 years with a 3-vote majority in the House and a tie in the Senate.  So I'm not buying that lame excuse any more.  All House Republicans have to do is to put together a budget and put it in the floor for a vote.  TWO FRIGGIN' YEARS !!!

If they pass it, it's a win.  If it gets voted down, it's a win.  But I can guarantee you that any CR of a Pelosi budget is a 'lose', especially while the GOP controls the House.
