Trump’s approval bounces back by double digits to his highest favorability ever

Popular support for President-elect Donald Trump has never been higher, according to a polling group that awarded him a net positive personal rating for the first time.
RealClearPolling gave Trump a net approval score of plus-2 percentage points as of Dec. 11, a steep increase from the president-elect’s negative 12.8 rating at the end of June.
The polling group has been tracking Trump’s approval ratings for nearly a decade, beginning shortly after he announced he would run for president in 2015.
At the time, RealClearPolling gave Trump a net disapproval rating of minus 39.3 percentage points and a favorability rating of only 22.7%.
Nine years later, the group’s news that Trump’s favorability ratings have risen to 49.4%, landing him net positive approval numbers, follows the president-elect’s political comeback last month, which stunned critics.
