Trump in Paris: President-Elect to Join World Leaders at Notre-Dame Cathedral Reopening

Donald Trump will be in Paris this weekend to attend the Notre-Dame Cathedral reopening alongside 50 other world leaders, marking an immediate return to the international stage for the president-elect.

The cathedral is reopening to worshippers and the public alike after more than five years of reconstruction following a devastating fire in 2019 that engulfed and nearly destroyed the soaring Paris masterpiece, as Breitbart News reported.

The ceremonies being held Saturday and Sunday will be high-security affairs, with upwards of 50 heads of state and government expected to attend.

This photograph shows the restored baptistery of Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral, designed by French artist and designer Guillaume Bardet, in Paris on November 29, 2024.

Trump announced that he will be among them in a post on his Truth Social site Monday evening. He wrote:

It is an honor to announce that I will be traveling to Paris, France, on Saturday to attend the re-opening of the Magnificent and Historic Notre Dame Cathedral, which has been fully restored after a devastating fire five years ago.

President Emmanuel Macron has done a wonderful job ensuring that Notre Dame has been restored to its full level of glory, and even more so. It will be a very special day for all!

Prince William will hold a meeting with Donald Trump in Paris today, as the pair both attend the re-opening of the Notre-Dame Cathedral.

Both the prince and the US president-elect are in Paris, France to mark the extensive restoration of the historic cathedral, which was damaged in a catastrophic fire in April 2019.

The Prince of Wales will attend the event on behalf of the United Kingdom, and Kensington Palace have announced that while there, he will also host meetings with Donald Trump and US First Lady Jill Biden. ... Newsweek

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Any truth to the rumor the Prince of Wales begged Trump not to deport his younger brother?  :silly:
