Well, if they have been pardoned, the cannot plead the fifth when Congress demands they testify about the whole sordid affair, and if they aren't forthcoming, at least then can be run up on contempt of Congress charges (and with a better basis than Steve Bannon was, since it will be by a duly constituted Congressional committee, not one constituted as a kangaroo court in violation of its authorizing resolution).
