Sadistic nanny flees after being caught on camera beating two-day-old baby
Liam Doyle | 1 Dec 2024 | 10:08A sadistic nanny who allegedly beat, smothered and threw a two-day-old baby has fled the US following the release of shock footage.
An unsettling video posted online by the parents of a newborn baby from California appears to show their daughter being abused by a trusted nanny. The parents, identified as "D" and "T", saw their helpless child being violently shaken, hit and thrown across the room at their home in Hillsborough, near San Francisco, after reviewing a baby monitor recording.
Speaking to US broadcaster ABC7, the child's dad said it was "definitely horrifying for any parent and family to go through", adding that he and his partner believed they could trust her. As police seek a "double-digit" prison sentence for the perpetrator of the abuse, the person captured in the video has reportedly fled to her native China.
The Daily Mail has identified the woman as maternity nanny Guitan Liu, who was hired by the couple to care for their daughter in late September. The mum who hired the carer and refers to herself only as "Bay Area Mom D", claimed she and her husband were duped into hiring the nanny by her daughter - who wrote a reference recommending her.
The Mail reports that Liu, who is yet to be officially charged by Bay Area police, came "highly recommended" to the Chinese American family. A reference from someone appearing to be the nanny's former employer had presented her as a trustworthy child carer on social media. But it was allegedly written by her daughter Christina.
A source told the Mail that Christina had worked at TikTok in Fresno before she was confronted by the company about her involvement in the case. She has since been let go. . . .
