Earlier this month, the issue was exemplified by a meal in which soldiers were served a single piece of toast and a handful of lima beans for dinner, according to one soldier stationed there who shared imagery of the meal. Even getting access to those limited rations can be hard, given confusing dining hall schedules and seemingly random closures that make it difficult for many to access hot meals.

Military.com's interviews with eight soldiers and review of photos from Fort Carson facilities found recurring problems. Food runs out quickly, and portions often fall short of the macronutrient requirements needed to sustain soldiers' demanding physical regimens, likely running afoul of service regulations on feeding requirements for troops. Some soldiers reported and shared photos of food that was undercooked or stored at dangerous temperatures.

Joseph Payton, a base spokesperson, said in a statement to Military.com. It is no exaggeration to say that one of the keys to winning WW2 - ETO and PTO - was the US' robust logistics. This current lack of food problem is one that should NEVER happen, and the roots trace directly to the Pentagon and SecDef Austin.

(*Clarification: I was never in the service, but made an acquaintance with C-rations and MREs as a civilian. C rations were 'duck blind food' in my youth, and I bought a case of MREs to try them out long ago. I confess, I actually like lima beans.
Either would have been good enough to eat for a while, but I'd reckon the lack of variety made the (MRE) addition of tabasco sauce a welcome condiment.)

Like Mike says....troops rely on being fed well and payed on time...They fed them better in Iraq and Afghanistan...they built HUGE mess halls with every kind of food you can imagine..this really pisses me off!

My first thought was stop feeding the friggin illegals and start feeding our soldiers, who signed up to defend America, not go on a starvation diet.

My second thought was maybe somebody ought to start auditing the books and find out what was supposedly bought to feed the soldiers and and where it actually went. I have to believe that the military has detailed standards in place that determine how much money is allotted to feed each soldier, so if this is only happening at one base where is the money for food going?

No doubt it has been reported that in some cases ILLEGALS are being treated better than our soldiers and our veterans.  What the heck is wrong with that picture???
